    Summary

"What business would a family of halflings have this far east?"

"Hobbits." Thorin said quietly. His father, and future King Under the Mountain, turned around to look at his eldest son. There was a curious light in the blue of his eyes that greatly reminded Thraín of a time long ago; from when he had first married the Lady Frís.

    "What?" He asked.

"They're called hobbits, father. The halflings are known to the wizard. Our friend, Tharkûn, appears to be the cause of this mischief and had prompted the Bagginses to move abroad. To satisfy some lost inspiration as I was told."

"The Bagginses! Tell me, who is it that you spoke with, Thorin. Are you also on first-name terms with these visitors from the west?"

Thorin brought his teeth together, he still spoke too much and often, a poor habit that his young nephews were beginning to pick up. His eyes were drawn towards the south-side barracks, where the city of Dale sat in the distance; he allowed his mind to wander to the curly-haired, bright-eyed fellow that had shouted at him earlier.

"Aye... There was an incident, with the son."

    Summary

The sound of fighting drew him closer. He grunted silently and then slipped without a sound to the orcs advancing on the two dwarfs, one clutching at his shoulder. Bilbo slid forward and then with one swoop, sliced the orcs knees from beneath them. He raised his sword and drew it sharply across the orc’s heads, severing them. The bodies toppled to the ground.

“What in Mahal’s name …?” The taller dwarf abruptly stopped as Bilbo lifted his gaze, pulling out a dagger. It was discharged and flew into the gap between the dwarf’s head, hitting the last orc that had snuck up on them. The two turned, eyes widened to saucers.

“Hello.” Bilbo greeted warmly. “I assume the two dwarflings that smacked into me on the road were your nephews?” Bilbo asked as he smoothly threw another knife, kicking upwards. The orc flew through the air and hit a tree with a crack. A dagger lodged him into it by the throat. The majestic looking dwarf nodded and swallowed heavily as Bilbo dispatched the last orc. “Oh, wonderful. I sent them ahead to get some other hobbits to lead them to my home when they told me that you two were left behind. They should hopefully be sat before a fire by now, getting mother henned over by my aunt.”

    Summary

The hunt for the remaining conspirators begins swiftly after the initial attempt on Bilbo’s life, and once captured, they are expected to face execution for treason against the royal family. However, despite their crimes, Bilbo cannot bring himself to demand their deaths. Instead, he proposes an alternative punishment, one that spares their lives but strips them of everything that defines them as dwarrow. Though it is born from mercy, his sentence proves to be just as devastating: exile, public shaming, the removal of their hair and identity, and the loss of Khuzdul, the sacred tongue of their people.

    Summary

"I don't know what troubles you lot ran into, but everything was so focused on you that I had a most uneventful trip."

    -----

Bella Baggins is hired to be the burglar for the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. Only, she doesn't know this; nobody bothered to tell her she was supposed to be hosting thirteen dwarves and a wizard for dinner, to explain exactly what her duties as burglar entails.

That would've been nice to know beforehand, thank you very much.

She's off on an adventure, to heal the land far to the East and over ranges and rivers that keeps calling out to her.

    Without the dwarves.

Because nobody bothered to tell her anything.

Erebor may have been calling out for help, but she won't know what hit her.

    Summary

In Arda, music is a fundamental and powerful force, originating from the divine Music of the Ainur, which created the Universe. Elves, Dwarrows, and Wizards all harness music in unique ways—to heal, build, and shape fate. Among mortals, each person is born knowing how to play one instrument: the key to their heartsong, a melody that connects them to their destined other half. Some sing instead of playing—these rare individuals are said to be whole. Rarest of all are those whose heartsongs span multiple instruments, suggesting a soul resonating with many melodies.
Bilbo Baggins, however, avoids his own instrument, hidden in his basement. When he plays it, he feels conflicting emotions—sorrow, anger, and unsettling confidence—suggesting his other half is brash and difficult. Bilbo would rather not deal with that at all.

    Summary

It was a well-known truth that Hobbits, especially those of the most respectable families, did not leave the Shire. And why would they ever wish to? Everything they needed was within the safe and comfortable boundaries. Life in the Shire was peaceful and full of joy; as the only needs of a Hobbit are good food, good company, and good ale. Any outsiders who ventured into the Shire, whether passing through or for trade, were looked at with little welcome and quite a bit of suspicion.
So, on the rare occasion that a Hobbit expressed their wishes to venture beyond the safety of the Shire or, Lady Yavanna forbid, actually do so, they would be considered to be more than a little mad and not at all a respectable sort. And all the habitants of the Shire knew that there was no Hobbit madder and completely unrespectable than Belladonna Took.
That is, until her daughter, Bluebell Baggins left the Shire – with little more than a quickly scrawled note leaving Bag End to her cousin Drogo – in the company of Dwarves.

Chroí is irish for heart btw. I love the idea of hobbits being a lot like the Irish - after all we have a lot in common!

The hobbit's eyes grow wide in realization. In terror. But his panic is not directed at the fall or even the iron grip holding him aloft over the battlements. He feels his organs twist within him, changing.

Yavanna did not leave her hobbits defenseless, but the Price is high, and Bilbo's debt has come due.

    Summary

During his Khuzdul lessons, Bilbo learns about a peculiar "madness" that runs in Thorin’s family—an intense, often irrational behavior that surfaces when they fall in love or deal with matters of the heart. This revelation deeply worries Bilbo, especially as he begins to recognize signs of this same emotional instability in Fili, prompting concern for their well-being and the emotional chaos it could bring to their lives and the royal household.

"And that’s what they were, really – gifts. Gifts for those who had seen enough, for those who had acted the unwilling witness to true evil, and who had survived.
    Oh, how wrong they were."

Or: Middle Earth's water supply is infected by the One Ring remaining in it for so long, giving everyone supernatural abilities. What follows is disaster at the One Ring's removal, a dragon living under the Lonely Mountain, dwarves who really don't know as much as they think, and one hobbit's very interesting, and very dangerous, ability.

After his mother delivered him to the earth and covered him as it's proper, both his parents waited for weeks until he was ready to bloom. Okay. So this is kind of a prequel to the other one. Simply because it refuses to write. I'm trying. But if it goes the way I want it too (and it might not. It's kind of writing itself) her backstory will be VERY important around the Rivendell section and this was I won't have to go too into explaining it.
