Finn Hudson is confused about everything: from where his dad has been stationed; to why Quinn thinks Mr. Schue blackmailing him is wrong; to Kurt's newfound change in sexuality (he's pretty sure Brittany is a chick & he thought Kurt liked him); & why no one but him cares that Quinn doesn't know how she conceived her baby. About the only things he isn't confused about is that he loves Quinn & wants to be Drizzle's dad. (Not that he's bothered telling his dad about the whole pregnant girlfriend thing - he's certain his flimsy excuse of Quinn's glandular condition will hold up in court).
There's a saying about best laid plans & good intentions, Finn doesn't pay attention in class & doesn't entirely know. All he knows is he's going to stand by Quinn and be Drizzle's dad.
All he intended to do was stop Mr. Schue from insisting that Quinn dance at Regionals & now all the adults are yelling & everything is a mess. When Mr. Schuester gets put under investigation for slipping that pot into his locker, Rachel turns on him & accuses him of caring about Drizzle more than he does ND, who are disqualified from Regionals.
Of course, he does. Is that so wrong?

One second, lips are on him, and the next, Karofsky is torn away, and Kurt’s gasping for air as Finn shoves Karofsky into the lockers, face twisted into an unfamiliar form of rage. He blinks dazedly from shock, both from the unwanted kiss and his reprieve from it.
For a change, he’s not the one being pummeled, but it all feels wrong. His cheeks are still burning from the exertion of chasing Karofsky down, and he can hardly breathe as Finn slams Karofsky's head into the clanging metal repeatedly, hard enough to leave more than just a bruise.
