Loki Laufeyson was born to his dam, King Laufey Nalson and his sire, Fárbauti Cruel-Striker. He was the youngest of their family, Helblindi being the firstborn and Býleistr the second born.
In this story Loki was protected and was not stolen by Odin. He was raised as a Laufeyson, no as an Odinson. Thor!bashing, Fandral!bashing, Odin!bashing. This is intended as a dark fic, ⚠️PLEASE READ THE TAGS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!⚠️

Summary
Loki never fell from the Bifrost.
Thor believed that saving Jotunheim would save them all. There would be no grief for a lost brother, son, or prince. Loki would face trial for his crimes before the Allfather, before he would be returned to them. It would be a fresh start for their family, as Loki was given a chance to redeem himself and heal from his wounds, but things would soon go awry.
Jotunheim held a new king. Jane waited back on Earth.
Thor never expected for their relationship to be ripped further apart, forced into a political marriage and torn between conflicting duties, and yet there was no way to move except forward. He would save Loki the only way he knew how, even if that meant that both suffered an unwanted marriage in the meantime. Loki would be saved.

Bookmarker's Notes
*Beware spoilers!!*
Basic Plot:
Loki is brought to Asgard after attempting genocide of Jotunns. His family wants to heal him. Loki doesn’t want to be healed- he wants to be free and respected. He is imprisoned.
Odin disowns Loki, manipulates him into marrying Thor, and forces them to conceive an heir for Helblindi, King of Jotunnheim or be sentenced to solitary imprisonment or being sent to Jotunnheim- all in fulfillment of a contract Odin negotiated with King Helblindi of Jotunnheim (Loki’s big brother) to avoid war with the Nine Realms.
Loki feels violated, angry and depressed- he self harms to cope. He goes crazy and attacks Midgard after learning he’s pregnant. Loki is punished by being forced to remain in his Jotunn form- which worsens his body dysphoria and depression. He ends up not hating his baby even though the child was unwanted.
Final Thoughts:
1. Odin got off way too easy (I’d never forgive such violations- he needs to read a parenting book),2. I wanted to see Loki reject the child and how that affects their family once Loki is free to leave Asgard and all that trauma in his rear view window and do whatever he wants. I would’ve liked to see his kid grow as Loki remains disinterested/avoids him, and whether Odin ever realizes senstencing someone with body dysphoria to be in their hated form only worsens body dysphoria and hatred. I’m curious what Thor would feel/do, because I think forcing conception would negatively affect the carrier-child relationship because the person bearing the child hates themselves for being forced to carry a child (resentment, at least).
3. I wanted to see his family be forced to confront the consequences of their well meant, but ultimately further detrimental “healing” efforts.
3a. Taking seidre away is understandable (precautionary measure), house arrest/imprisonment is fair (he did kill), death would be fair, but even prisoners have a right to bodily autonomy and choice. What Odin did tantamount to psychological torture and telling others their feelings are wrong is a no- people are entitled to their feelings and those feelings are valid even if the supporting facts are incorrect.Notes to Self:

Summary
Things go very differently on the ill-suited venture to Jotunheim when the Frost Giants notice something about one of the invaders. But their decision to "rescue" what they assume must be a kidnapped Jotun has many unexpected and far-spanning consequences...especially for Loki himself.
