Louis is on tour when he first hears about it. It’s all over the news – Harry Styles Attacked By Fan runs in headlines for days. It’s not even just the gossip rags, either. Actual journalists are covering the story. It would have been impossible to avoid hearing about it. Technically, Oli is the one who tells Louis about it, but it’s not exactly being covered up. Harry doesn’t answer Louis’ text asking if he’s alright, but that’s not really surprising. They haven’t spoken for months, and it’s been a lot longer than that since they’ve had a real conversation. The sting of the text going unanswered is still there, less painful than it might have been a few years ago.
It’s not that it’s easy to forget about, exactly. Louis has a whole life outside of One Direction now, though. So Louis goes on with his life, figuring that if Harry was seriously hurt he would have heard about it by now. He might currently be in the same country as Harry, but being on opposite sides of it puts enough distance between them that putting it in the back of his mind is easy. There’s nothing Louis could do, even if he thought Harry might want him to.
That’s why everything that happens next comes as a complete shock to him.

He gets a whiff of Peter's cologne and he's like a shark smelling blood in the water, his primal instincts taking over until he finds himself pinning Peter against the car and wrapping his arms around his neck like they're a couple reunited at the airport. It's incredibly embarrassing, especially with Derek clearing his throat only a few feet away while he tries his hardest to keep his eyesight vertical and address only the sky.
"Is this the new way teenagers say hello?" Peter asks, sounding thoroughly amused, and then Stiles' mouth latches onto the pulse point under his neck and Peter's hands promptly fly to Stiles' hips.
Peter is oddly complacent about the tongue on his neck for the next invigorating two minutes while Stiles' heart rate returns to normal and lets him breathe air once more.

Whoa, this is intense, jeez John is a fucking basket case. First there's the pain and discomfort and they have to be closer and closer and it's scary, but to John, it's mostly scary because he'll have to touch a man... in public. They wind up waiting until they're just about to die before doing the sex thing (weeks later) and John's all shocky with it, and panicked and traumatized, and it's sad and hard to watch. But also, the walls he's had up all his life are cracking under the strain, and he tries to build them back up, but it isn't working.
The get it right eventually, but damn, that's a rough ride. And poor Rodney, catching all the flak. Thank goodness he's more patient and understanding than anyone'd given him credit for.

Very good canon-divergence in which, shortly after Wen Ruohan’s death, WWX and LWJ run across a curse that means LWJ is in increasing pain if WWX is not nearby. Slow build, with angst and misunderstandings, secrets slowly revealed, and things improving (including, initially very slowly, LQR’s opinion of WWX). Also, the Lan sect are not just about summer school but about academia, with thesis defense and IRB meetings as well as properly structured research reports, heh.
The Jin power-hunger situation is not resolved by the end, but WQ, WN, and the Wen remnants avoid both death and the Burial Mounds. Great sibling relationships and strong characterizations.

Oh, it is harmful, Lan Wangji thinks through a spinning head as he feels Wei Wuxian twist their hands this way and that, testing the limits of the curse. It is most certainly harmful.

(tl;dr a curse makes teen!wwx and teen!lwj hold hands. lwj, who is very much in denial about his feelings, tries his best not to panic and wwx decides that Operation: Make Lan Zhan My Best Friend is a GO. hilarity ensues)
