Summary
Sapnap’s best friend wasn’t in love with him and that was okay. It was okay, really, he just had to act like a middle schooler about it first. It was late summer, the sun setting over the horizon as Sapnap sat on the steps of their back porch. The flower in his hands was quickly losing its petals, the white curls drifting to the ground as he plucked them out. He was struggling to pace himself, murmuring the familiar words to himself as he reached the end of the flower’s petals.
“He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not.”
He held the last petal between his pointer finger and his thumb, the silky soft texture against his skin sparking bitter flames of hope.
He wasn’t a child anymore. He knew it didn’t mean anything. He pulled the petal out anyways.
“He loves me.”

“Pandas.” Dream gasps out, bringing his head up so that he can watch Sapnap grind on top of him. His hands relax and fall limp on Sapnap’s hips. Dream has no clue what to do with his hands or his body while he’s this dumbfounded and awed. “You look so fucking good like this.”
He can’t even find it in himself to reprimand himself, so completely entranced with the sight of Sapnap’s long hair swaying around his shoulders as he thrusts his hips against Dream.
Sapnap had started growing out his hair about a month after he officially moved in with Dream and Dream has to admit that he likes it way more than he thought he would when Sapnap originally brought up the idea of growing it out. Dream hadn’t voiced his disapproval then, knowing that it would just make Sapnap more determined to grow it out. He’s glad that Sapnap did it.

Sapnap’s cheeks turned a bit red as he showed them the paper. It was a list of questions written down in a messy handwriting that could only belong to Sapnap. “Please don’t laugh,'' he said.

Would something really happen though? Sapnap had already felt this, he had already been balancing the fine line between friendship and something else between him and Dream.
But this time it was different, Sapnap felt, it is as if he was already far from the path where he could distinguish what a brush of arms and legs meant, where a hug that lasted longer than normal was nothing strange, it was a new territory where anything was possible.
The possibility that their lips would finally meet was just as high as if Dream would walk away, giggling nervously, making some joke about the closeness between them and then suggesting that they go annoy George.
Sapnap didn't know what would be worse.
“Pandas?” Dream's voice was loud in the silence they were immersed in, but it was probably no more than a whisper, one said so close to Sapnap that it was difficult to focus on something other Dream's lips so close to his own.

Dream blinked and looked at Sapnap.
"Yes," Dream answered as if it was the most obvious reply in the world, which is debatable.
"Well okay, you're right," Sapnap said. "I'm should theoretically be okay with people doing bullshit things, but I'm not okay with you putting yourself in danger."
"I'm not putting my- When have I put myself in danger?" Dream asked.
"When you decided to work with a man names Viper-" Sapnap spat in disgust. "Are you dumb, stupid, or dumb?"
Sapnap is Dream's college roommate. He's also the Prince of Hell. Have you ever seen the Prince of Hell worry about someone's safety before? It's almost endearing. It also only happens because Dream's an idiot.
