This was it this is how he could finally confront his little brother and maybe (hopefully) reconcile.
James potter knew one thing about life with the utmost confidence. He was unfortunately irrevocably still in love with regulus black. Its not like he didn't try to get over him, James tried everything under the sun- but regulus had left a permanent mark on his soul, so when his best friend comes barging into his home screaming about finding his little brother. James tags along, for support of course.
