"Pull yourself together." That's what Robin kept telling herself. "He's gone, and there's nothing you can do to change that." She made those rules for herself just after the battle ended, and she followed them. At least, that's what she told herself. That's what she told everyone.
So as she sat there, in a room crowded with people, none of them willing to tear their gaze away from her out of pure shock, she felt those boundaries that she created for herself start to shatter. She panicked. She'd been lying to herself, and now everyone knew. Her gaze flickered over to Nancy, looking at her concerned expression. Then, over to Dustin, who's eyes were almost comically wide, which would've been funny if her mind didn't feel like it was shattering to pieces right now. She looked around at everyone, noting their expressions.
Then, finally, over to Steve, who was already looking at her. "Steve, please, help," she muttered, pleading.Nancy heard this and leaned down to make eye contact with her. "Steve's not here, Robin. Steve is dead."
