Summary
When John “Soap” MacTavish leaves the city behind for a neglected farm he inherited from his late grandfather in Pelican Town, he expects soil, sweat, and a quiet life. What he doesn’t expect is to meet Simon “Ghost” Riley, a gruff, masked recluse living in the mountains. Between tending to his animals, the changing seasons, and dangerous dives into the mines, Soap’s path keeps crossing with Ghost’s. Soap came to the valley to start over, but he never imagined Ghost would be the one to take root in his heart.
[Or: The Stardew Valley AU nobody asked for, but I wrote anyway]

Summary
"I've never hitchhiked before," comes from the passenger seat at last, and… "Sure as hell not on rides this swank."
"Season," he replies, only because without the radio, the silence feels like a road trip with two serial killers. "No options in three different rentals."
"Ye drive well." -

Summary
Civilian John MacTavish never knew what his fiancé Simon Riley did for work, only that it required him to be overseas for unknown amounts of time, and that it was extremely ‘need-to-know’.
That was until strange people barged into his house only a few hours after his family had left, kidnapping him and taking him somewhere.
—
Now Simon Riley was sent on a mission to find these people who said they had a member of the 141s family. Tasked with rescueing them, taking the others into custody, and seizing whatever they had, all Simon could think about was why his Fiancé hadn’t returned his call before the mission.

Summary
“Eager thing, aren't you?”
Soap beams up at him. Looks downright feral with the blood dripping down his chin and over his fangs as he soaks up the omega's appraising once over.
Normally, Simon wouldn't give such a vagrant display of alpha peacocking the time of day.
But when his new neighbor– a rich, young pup from an old blood pedigree across the pond in Scotland– does it, he finds himself suddenly quite interested in just how far one John “Soap” MacTavish will go to get his attention.
And what he'll do to keep it.
____
Or the fic where older, silver-fox omega Ghost is being courted by younger, rich alpha playboy Johnny who is determined to elevate his comfortably middle-class DILF neighbor into the upper echelons of society.

Summary
“They say the Ghost has no heart,” the soldier says, casual like he’s just come back from an evening stroll instead of a torture session. Without breaking eye contact, he taps the tip of his knife, still wet with Johnny’s blood, against the one-way glass, leaving behind a smear of crimson. “But I do not think that is true. I think I have found the Ghost’s heart, and I have strung it up like meat from butcher. Right. There.”
The man smiles, close-lipped and unassuming, and that disturbs Ghost more than any grin with too many sharp teeth ever will.
“It is pretty heart. Very pretty. But like butcher, I will carve it up in front of you if you do not tell me what I want to know."

Summary
Soap doesn’t remember the ambush outside Prague. He doesn’t remember the medevac, the surgery, or the two weeks he spent in a coma. What he does remember is Ghost’s face when he wakes, sitting at his bedside like he hasn’t moved in days.
Turns out, Ghost’s been listed as his “next of kin.” Which is strange, because Soap doesn’t remember marrying his lieutenant, either. However, hospitals only allow family to stay overnight, and Ghost wasn’t about to leave.
Now, as Soap learns to walk again, Ghost helps him eat, move, and stay awake. It’s supposed to be just for practicality and convenience.
But there’s nothing practical about the way Ghost looks at him or the way Soap looks back.
Recovery is messy. So is pretending not to care.
Or: Soap survives the gunshot, and Ghost pretends to be his husband so he can take care of him

Summary
"You wear that mask because you think it makes you like death. Cold and distant. Merciless. But Simon, how can I prove to you how wrong that is? I don't know how to put it, but that day, you were an angel. An angel with a shotgun, sure, but an angel nonetheless. You made me believe in myself again. I thought I was gonna die, Simon. And you made me... you made me feel like it was possible to live."

Summary
What Johnny?" Ghost asked, voice gruff from sleep.
Ghost heard Soaps' breathing stop, the return way too quickly.
"Speak to me." Ghost pleads, worried Soap would pass out.
Soap stopped breathing again. Pained gasp leaving him, breathing picking up tenfold.
"It's fine. Everything's fucking fine."
Or Soap has a episode, leaving Ghost worried

That's fine, really. Right up until he's sent on a solo op. When he's given an experimental drug to obtain information, the enemy isn't prepared for the monster they unleash. Fortunately for Ghost, there's only one man who's coming after him into this mess.

Summary
At the nights when he could not sleep, when lying in bed burned more strength than being awake Ghost got up, got dressed and moved to Price’s office. More often than not the light was still on, Price pouring over two files. Sometimes Laswell would pass through, or call- “Is there a lead on them?”
“Not yet, still on it.” Ghost would see Price’s shoulders sink a bit more at every negative. But the two files were never closed, never left the desk of their captain. The team looses contact to one of their own- but just as wounds start to heal there is a discovery:
Ghost kept an even breath, so much as a forceful exhalation could give you away to a careful listener.
Luckily, the men in front of them were busy keeping the prisoner off balance. Waking them up in the middle of the night- wear down the mental defences. He waited for them to come into view. Waited for the prisoner, stumbling along with hands tied and feet shackled . And felt his stomach plumet. That narrow jaw, the eyes, now deep set in the gaunt face.

Summary
John doesn’t remember dying, not really anyway.
He remembers pain. He remembers fear, a lot of fear, and probably not for the reasons he should—he’s never been afraid of dying, no, but he was afraid of dying with unfinished business. The thought of dying with things unsaid, pleasures unexperienced, L.T.s unfucked—and maybe that last one took up more space in his mind than it should—that’s what scared him.
So no, John doesn’t remember dying. He does remember how he felt before, and he sure as hell remembers what happened after.
