“I don’t understand you,” he finally admitted, equal parts delighted and baffled by this revelation, “But I am glad it played out this way.”
“I bet you are,” Alastor scowled. He was hiding something- something, something, whatever. Vox couldn’t care if he tried. He tightened the wire around him, pulling him down into his lap before immediately releasing him, giving him the option to move if he wanted.
“It’s more fun having you as my prisoner,” he buzzed, and when he stayed put, he reached out to brush a stray hair from his cheek, delighting in that brief flood of color to his face, trying not to think about the way his knees were pressed on either side of his thighs.
“Does it ever get boring? I mean, seventy years of relentlessly obsessing over one person…really, Vincent, how long will it take you to move on?”After decades of fighting, Vox has finally won. The radio demon is on his string now, and everything is looking up for him. Only, once he finds himself alone with him, he's forced to realize that maybe he doesn't hold as much power over him as he thought- and maybe he doesn't even want to. Will he give in to Alastor's games, or is he strong enough to finally take control over him?

Vox has created a perfect, idealistic life for himself with Alastor. He has a loving husband, a beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood, and a promising career as the local car dealership’s top salesman.
It’s everything he’s ever wanted. His own personal paradise, his heaven.
But none of it’s real. It’s all lies, hosted within a virtual reality simulation, and Vox refuses to come out, even at the risk of his own life.
Back in the real world, Velvette and Valentino are at their wits end trying to figure out a way to get Vox out of that damn VR machine. Eventually, Velvette realizes that Alastor is the only one who can reach Vox inside the VR terminal.
Reluctantly offering his assistance in exchange for future favors, Alastor agrees to help get Vox out.
Little does he know, he’s in for one wild ride.

Throughout his life and afterlife Alastor has come to realize that he is rather slow when it comes to matters of the heart. In life, he knew not what being in love meant. And in death, it took him far too long to realize when he’d finally stumbled into that elusive, unknown affliction of the heart. His soul was traded for love without him even having fully realized it. It is only after things come to a head in a tangled mess between himself, the Queen of Hell, her King, and that old pal of his that he can choose for himself what to do with this feeling.
And apparently, that choice is to somehow manage to simultaneously maintain relations with two difficult to handle men despite having a grand total of zero relationship experience prior to this point.
He never claimed that his choice had to be a good one…
It seemed that he does not fall into love easy. But once he does… the feeling was guarded jealously in his chest.

Vox rose to power before the radio demon and managed to swindle his soul, along with that of another up-and-coming overlord by the name of Angel Dust. As a trio, their influence bleeds through the city. Hell will be theirs soon. But why rush? They have the rest of forever to take it.
‘So, Vox,’ Angel says, conversationally. ‘We can do this here.’
‘We could,’ agrees Alastor, once again crushing Important Things on Vox’s desk. ‘The metal walkway sounds quite appealing!’
‘Or,’ he continues, ‘you can let Smiles take us somewhere nicer, where he’s not gonna make me edge ya for the next three hours because you’ve put him in a mood.’
‘I can leave,’ Vox says. He threatens this by glitching, skin glowing with blurry blue binary code as he half-phases out.

‘Taking apart my bones would be a bit far,’ Vox gasps, claws digging into Alastor’s shirt. Alastor pulls away and bears his teeth at him. His eyes are startlingly dark.
‘But you’d make a lovely corpse.’
Vox shudders, feeling warmth pooling in his stomach.
‘You’re not killing me. I have shit to do tomorrow.’
Alastor reaches out to grip the side of Vox’s screen. There is that neon green ripple of power in his peripherals, and shadows curling in the corners of the room.
‘A shame,’ he says, and leans in to kiss him instead.

Time warps in a strange way, and suddenly the show is over, and Vox comes to, finally blinking as Angel Dust leaves the stage. Her second drink is finished with, but she doesn’t remember sipping it. The audience is shifting and beginning to talk. With the back of her hand Vox wipes at those fizzing bloody power trails which have leaked from her mouth.
‘Well?’ Val asks. She licks her finger and swipes away the remaining stickiness around Vox’s screen.
‘It was passable,’ Vox lies, watching Valentine stick her claw in her own mouth. ‘Nothing special.’
She wonders if the reason Val’s fixation has stuck is because there’s just… something else about Angel Dust. Is Valentine also drawn to it? This grittiness? This shy razor edge? Vox wouldn’t mind cracking whatever it is open, and prying it apart. She wonders if Angel’s doting audience sees it too. She hopes not. Vox realises she wants it for herself.
