Summary
Maybe the lesson they were supposed to learn was indeed the power of friendship. However, Yelena is going to quickly decide that the power of friendship doesn't just extend to this team: there's a young, overpowered vigilante swinging through New York that clearly has just as many issues as any of them, and hard as it is to make new friends, the team's going have to if they're going to figure out how to get around Valentina's new directive: to aid Mayor Fisk in his city-wide vigilante crackdown.
Basically all the old avengers fics where they'd adopt one emotionally broken Peter Parker but instead, it's the Thunderbolts and they are, unfortunately, just as messed up as this poor kid is. They're going to figure it out, though.
In other words, 5 times the New Avengers tried to learn something about Spider-Man, and 1 time Peter Parker let them into his life.

“Glad to see I’m not the only one who craves a sandwich on Christmas.” MJ said, breaking the silence. She was an introvert, so she knew making small talk was out of character for her, but she felt this great push to talk to the guy ahead of her in line for some reason.
He turned around for a second, taking his headphones out of his ears as he did so. “I’m so-” he cut himself off as soon as he caught proper sight of her, his face going pale white as if he had just seen a ghost and his brown eyes turning into saucers. “Oh.. hi.” He managed to let out feebly, just under his breath.
She knew she should be confused as to why he was acting like this, but truth be told she was also taken aback because something about him felt so familiar. His doe eyes, his mess of curls decorated with melting snowflakes, his subtle freckles… he looked exactly like the boy in her dreams. But he couldn’t be…could he?

Summary
Behind the counter is Peter Parker, someone Ned technically shouldn’t even know the name of, except that he does.
Ned completely got his memories back a few months ago. Peter Parker had taken up so much space in his life that it was nearly impossible to ignore the massive gap in his memories, even as his unconscious mind tried to redirect him away from questioning it too much, he found that the decade long space that Peter occupied was too much.
It took him three weeks after he got his memories back to tell MJ. The ordeal wasn’t something he wanted to put anyone through, let alone if she would even believe him, but he had to. She deserved to know.
Neither of them have tried to reach out to Peter. MJ had seemed adamant that she wouldn’t at all. She was rightfully angry and believed herself to have moved on. Ned wasn’t sure he could agree, but he wasn’t going to take that decision away from her.
Ironically, the universe hadn’t given Ned the same choice.

Happy can't forget the kid he met at the Cabin, there's just something familiar about him. FRIDAY keeps blocking his searches for information until Happy pulls at a thread. The kid had mentioned a secret lab, so why not try to find it on SI site?
Peter allows FRIDAY to let Happy find it, the man would find the door anyway. Happy is surprised at the workshop space, and how it's decked out with all the bells and whistles. He finally accepts that Peter and Tony were close.

Pepper, Rhodey and Happy are confused as to why the young man in front of them looks so much like Tony but they have no idea who he is.
Peter fixes DUM-E, makes a handful of gifts for the family and disappears when everything gets too much. FRIDAY shows them who Peter is via holograms of her 'memories' (security footage) of Peter and Tony working together in the lab.
