The last thing Killua remembered before waking up in a trash can to the sound of screams was being with his younger sister, Alluka, asleep in a hotel in YorkNew City. The situation unsettled him—it’s not every day you go to bed in comfort and wake up surrounded by garbage.

Killua goes back to Kukuroo Mountain after he is given a letter with a life changing offer on it. A simple task turns into a snowball of problems, each more concerning than the last. And then there is the worst of them all: Illumi rotting away because Hisoka is dead. Suddenly Killua is thrown into saving his abuser, which he feels pulled to do for reasons that he's trying to understand. Will he lose himself in the process? Will he be able to fix Illumi? And why the hell does Illumi care if Hisoka died?!?
I wanted to write a story that occurs years after the anime that is in a world where Hisoka dies before his fight with Chrollo. I wanted to write this story about Illumi and his struggles with Hisoka's death, but for some reason I was pulled to write it in Killua's pov! So here we are! Plz enjoy!! <3

Prince Gon Freecss and his reluctant bodyguard, Killua Zoldyck, embark on a fake relationship to save them from predatory fae advances as they travel into the realm of Aiai. Gon has no idea Killua is only pretending to be human and is actually on the run from his fae family. Neither of them understand why Gon (who, despite being gifted, is definitely human) develops a mysterious knack for fae magic along the way. A group of magically talented murderers are travelling in the same direction and will kill them on sight. Even if Killua and Gon survive Aiai, they must eventually part, so falling in love is out of the question. Or so they both say, at the start.
Slow burn. Unconfessed love. Jealousy and possessiveness. Deepening friendship and desire.

He left home, angry, lonely and sad. He ignored the pleases of his crazy mother and the threats of his obsessive brother. He took a train and went to the closest city. He also took a random bus, he wanted to get lost. He arrived in a small city. There was an autumn festival, dozens of stands with small activities to do and stands that were selling handmade crafts. One particularly got his attention: a small stand held by a beautiful young man, about his same age. He had a pumpkin carving stand, and no one was really looking into it. He felt kind of bad for him, so he decided to get closer and the young man lit up.

The sickness had struck suddenly.
According to Kikyo, Illumi had been acting completely normal up until the moment he’d collapsed at dinner. It proved fortunate that he was visiting home at the time, as they were able to give him excellent medical care right away.
And yet, nothing the family doctors tried seemed to make any difference in his condition. Days passed, and Illumi still didn’t awaken. An oppressive Nen hovered over him, one that no exorcist could dispel or even make sense of.
Slowly, day by day, Illumi began to change. It was almost unnoticeable at first—just a new tint of green in his fingernails, an unnatural growth to his hair. Soon enough, it became impossible to ignore. Illumi’s eyes were sunken in his skull, tiny vines sprouting out of them and climbing down his face. Thicker tendrils of vines sprouted from various places on his body and grew over him, imprisoning him in a thorny cage.
Kalluto couldn’t stand to be in the same room as him for long.

Summary
In the small town of Hunter Falls, Illumi is able to flourish. Killua isn’t great with feelings or displays of such. Never has been, never planned to be. He shoves them away, he apologizes for them, and he moves on with his life.
Gon, however, loves feelings and loves to show them. All of them, all the time. He never apologizes for how he feels, and he can’t understand why anyone ever would.
Killua says that, had he known how persistent Gon would be about the whole “sharing feelings” thing, he never would’ve introduced himself during the Hunter Exam. (It would’ve saved him a whole lot of new kinds of feelings.)
