Summary
He can’t stop thinking about that comment. It bothers him. It shouldn’t, Jack knows it shouldn’t because he doesn’t care what other people think—let alone that smug bastard—but it does. The way Nick had turned to him on the stool, mouth quirked up in a bemused smile while he glanced over at him as if they were part of a shared joke.
"What are the odds? Both of us sleeping with the same Chinatown doctor."
Jack is too old for this shit, but that didn’t stop the hot drop of molten jealousy from settling into his stomach when he’d heard those words. That feeling is still banked within him no matter how much he tries to ignore it, ready to flare up again whenever he (unwillingly) revisits that memory.
It starts off with just hearing those words echoing in his head, then he's seeing flashes of Nick out of the corner of his eye, and then he starts dreaming of the other man. He's determined not to talk to the figment of his imagination. It's not real. Real Nick would never feel this way about him.

Nick knows fuck all about what Jack means by "Code Hazel" and he's not inclined to go downstairs. Except he likes Jack, sometimes, and the other man really wouldn't text him unless he had a valid reason.
Nick's not expecting who else is at the door.
