Her smile turned from gentle to wicked, curling more sharply to match the pointed look in her eyes. “So,” she said, her voice laced with mischief. “Do you like him?”
Another cry rose from the waves behind him. Jamie, laughing like he didn’t have a care in the world.
“Perhaps -” Again, the Doctor sighed. “Perhaps a little.”
Polly fixed him with a stern glare.
“Oh, very well.” Straightening up, the Doctor huffed more loudly, letting a touch more frustration fall into the sound. “Yes. Yes, I do like him. Far more than is reasonable.”
The Doctor watches Jamie, and Polly knows more about his feelings than he realises.
