    “You’re here to get better,” Jon says softly.

    Of course, he sees the motion coming.

    Damian’s moves are sluggish due to the sedatives and the wounds, but Jon does not do anything to stop him when fingers close around his shirt. Instead, Jon lets Damian pull him down, closer to his eye level.

    “Do I look not well enough to you, Kent?” he snarls with barely contained fury “Take. Me. Back. To Gotham,”
    “I can’t,” Jon says simply as he looks at Damian straight in the eye.
    “Do not insult me, Kent”

    Jon’s look turns serious, not backing down for a second.

    “I won’t” he sentences in a blank tone.

    OR

    After their breakup, Damian throws himself into work and patrol. After an encounter with Zod, an intervention is in order. Will Jon be able to get Damian back?

    On an objective level, emotions are a weakness to be exploited. Damian has been trained to be nothing but a weapon, and weapons aren’t supposed to feel. On an objective level, he knows this. On a deeper, more primal level that he didn’t think died so much as never existed in the first place, he has always been a broken blade from the day he was born.

    Is it any wonder that he’d slip up, in the end?

    “I know a lot more about relationships than you ever will, Damian.” That might be a lie. Jon has no experience with romance, and definitely no experience with dates. But he’s certain Damian has no idea how to even be friends with people, not to mention anything resembling courting, and he’d like nothing more than to put a crack in Damian’s bravado.

    “Fine. Prove it to me, then,” Damian says, and Jon definitely doesn’t like where this is going. “Attempt to court me and I’ll grade you. If you fail, then we’ll all know how much better I am at courtship than you. Like everything else, incidentally.”

    Jon didn't mean to kill anyone. He was Superboy, the son of Clark Kent, he would never move with lethal force toward a human. He absolutely knew better and had trained his entire life to avoid ever killing anyone on accident. Maybe that was the problem... he hadn't exactly killed them on accident, had he? He wasn't sure anymore. All he knew now was that Damian was safe, his abductors were dead, and now they were in Thailand, hiding from the inevitable fallout when their fathers, the Justice League, and the rest of the world found out that a Kryptonian had gone rogue, lost control, and broken the Super Family cardinal rule.

    It's a lot messier than he would have thought his next sleepover with his best friend would be...
