Tom Riddle has just split his soul for the first time when Death shows up at his door. But Death isn’t there to take him, but – berate him?

You see, in this timeline, Tom was never supposed to create a Horcrux. While traveling from another timeline to kill him, Hermione Granger was supposed to stop him. So why wasn’t she there on time?
To make it up to Death, Tom is given the task of sorting out the chaos he has made for Death at work. Turns out, the Fabric of Existence is an awful employer. Rumor has it, that the entity known as Life threatening to quit is the very reason Death came into being in the first place!
Oh, and to make matters worse: Hermione, who Death claims is “annoying but effective,” is appointed Tom’s supervisor. Now THIS should be a good way to punish both of them!
