Tim never really understood emotions, so it was no surprise that he noticed the difference between how he acted towards others and how they acted towards him so late. When he realised that he would die for his family and they wouldn’t even invite him to dinner or asked how he was doing, he didn’t feel bad when he left it all behind, he felt at peace actually.
Or: Tim leaves Gotham to travel and doesn’t tell anyone, they didnt notice and he never looked back. He marries a sweet Russian man with four kids and works as a doctor.

But not afraid, not even upset or sad. He stood slowly, and his bare feet burned with the cold of the concrete. He must have forgotten his shoes in his rush.
The sound of the city floated up from somewhere far below him, and he took in a deep breath of smog-filled air. He closed his eyes. He had read that it would make it easier. Percy sighs. “You think some fucked up crime city in New Jersey is the perfect place for me to lay low and stay out of trouble?”
“Divine trouble? Greek trouble?” Chiron nods, stroking his chin gravely. Percy’s pretty sure he’s only doing it for dramatic affect. “Oh yes, Percy. Mortal trouble? You are unfortunately on your own for that, I’m afraid. As long as you avoid the Batman, you should be fine.”
Percy stares at him.
“The Batman is real?” He asks finally, afraid of the answer. Chiron just turns back to the fire again, though Percy definitely saw a twinkle in his eye. Stupid old horse.
(Or, Percy Jackson needs to get away from it all. Unfortunately, it doesn't want to get away from him. Was anyone going to tell him the Batman is real?)
