Summary
People have differing opinions on alcohol, but in general, Kaeya finds there are four main camps of people. There are those who are starchy against alcohol. They don’t drink alcohol, and they don’t want anyone else to drink it either. Then, there are those who perhaps don’t drink for medical reasons or simply personal reasons, but don’t mind when others partake in the elixir. There are people who view alcohol as a specialty drink, a celebratory mixture to be used to celebrate or even occasionally unwind, perhaps once or twice a week, if not a month.
Then, there were people like Kaeya. People who started drinking not because they wanted a drink, but because they needed a drink. People who need the feeling alcohol gives them, the mind numbing bliss that comes at the bottom of the bottle. The apathy that comes with all of your inhibitions lowered, your feelings freed into something like bliss and your troubles washed away with every swig.
People who refused to think of it as a problem.
(Or the fic in which Kaeya is finally forced to confront his alcoholism).

All Shadow Milk got in response was Pure Vanilla’s lips trembling. He tried to hold it together, to blink it away or swallow it down. He tried to be strong. He always did.
But not today.
Pure Vanilla turned from Shadow Milk, covering his face with both hands as his shoulders curled in.
And then… he cried.
