    Summary

Freediver John “Soap” MacTavish has trained for years to break the world diving record—pushing his body beyond limits, mastering the silence of the deep. But as the record attempt nears, something begins to stir beneath the surface.
    Something watching him.
    Something waiting.

It starts as a feeling, a presence just out of reach, one that fills him with unease... and a strange sense of longing. The deeper he dives, the more he feels it, a pull that’s not just in his mind, but in his bones.
Like he’s not alone down there. Like whatever is waiting for him in the dark has always been meant for him, and him alone.

    Summary

There is nothing grounding him, nothing that keeps the voices out. No direction but forward. No direction but Johnny.

The last thing Ghost sees before crashing into Soap are his wide, crystal blue eyes and his mouth opening, not quickly enough to get anything out except for a strangled "Ghost-".

Their bodies connect with a shock. Ghost was prepared for the impact of body against body, the sudden heat and the pressure on his skin that felt grounding despite the pain. However, he didn't anticipate the crack of lightning rushing through his body the moment he touches Soap.

It shocks him right to his very core.

Ghost has long escaped his imprisonment at Roba's, most of his traumatic experiences burrowed deep in the most hidden corners of his brain.

Why is it now, with Johnny getting closer that he's plagued by nightmares and flashbacks? There is something special about the man, something scary... What is it Ghost doesn't remember?

    Summary

“Ye wear that thing all the time, Ghost?” Soap asked, his bright blue eyes catching the glint of the light like the necklace did. His gaze lingered on where the chain was wound through Ghost’s fingers.

“I’ve never seen him without it,” Gaz said between them. Price gave a nod from the other side of Soap. They were all seated in a row at the bar, the golden glow of the lights casting everything in a warm haze.

“Funny, didn’t think ye were Catholic,” Soap licked his lips like he was nervous. His eyes still hadn’t left the small outline of Saint George.

When Ghost and Soap fall into bed together, Ghost finds himself afraid of his possessive urges. The bruises he finds on Soap's body the next morning only prove how dangerous he is.

    Soap disagrees.

    Summary

Another mission gone to hell, the team split in half and then split again, Johnny does his best to keep it together.

Does his best in the aftermath, too, for what it's worth (and it's worth a lot).

    ---

One moment they’d been fine, tight unit manoeuvring with ease through enemy territory, clearing buildings and neutralising threats. The next? Soap rubbed the back of his hand across his face, smearing sweat and dirt. He was filthy, covered in fluids not all his own. A hazard of the job. At least the helmet kept the worst of the building debris out of his hair.

He supposed it didn't matter really, it was a hopeless, rhetorical question. He knew exactly what had gone down, and hated every fucking minute of it.
