Kris desires to be close with Ramb, it makes them go insane, so it makes sense that when they have an opportunity to do so, they are going to take complete advantage of it.
They open the door with a creak, the noise gives them chills, the door feels old but in a way that makes them feel nostalgic. It makes them feel excited and full of adrenaline.
Immediately, Ramb looks up to the creaking door, having been cleaning a few drinking glasses and putting them on the shelves. He looks at them with a shocked expression, but ultimately gives a warm and welcoming smile and a laugh that Kris cannot properly decipher.
“Oh, Kris, luv.” He greets Kris with a wave, “You’ve come to see me, eh?”
Kris has an absolute infatuation with Ramb and wants to act upon it, so when they have that chance, they take it.
The result doesn't go fully how they wished, but they are not complaining, not in the slightest.

They heard her thoughts. Her chest heaved as the realization dawned on her by degrees. Something as intimate and personal as her very thoughts were listened to by them, the thing in front of her. In any other circumstance, referring to the being in front of her as a “thing” would’ve been a joke. It would’ve been a lighthearted, silly moment between friends, a joke about how odd Kris was made in good fun. But none of this was fun. And whatever was in front of her, wasn’t Kris. She knew that, deep down.

Kanako’s memory of the funeral was already fading, and she hated it. She’d felt the entire time like she was in a daze, not properly even hurting like she knew she should’ve been, like everyone around her was. People were supposed to cry at funerals, and some were. She’d seen the glassy-eyed look in Uncle Star’s eyes, even if he’d managed to keep his composure. Frustratingly, Kanako couldn’t exactly say she was happy. Earlier, it had felt like the world had ended entirely. Since the funeral, without her mother, it felt like it had stopped.
