It's been a year since Edward Nashton vanished into the back of a filing cabinet of missing persons reports and Edward Nygma came into being.
Unfortunately, adult life isn't the paradise of his childhood fantasies, and his fresh start has become a slog of bills, loans, and ostracization by his peers, as he's blackballed by a society that he longs to be a part of.
A chance meeting on a crowded train sends him tumbling into the orbit of a man named Oswald Cobblepot, whose slow rise through the underworld both perturbs and intrigues him as he looks on from the sidelines.
If civilized society is not for him, perhaps organized crime will be a satisfactory consolation prize.

Summary
After leaving Szarr Entertainment in the wake of a tumultuous - deliberately engineered - scandal, Astarion Ancunín has rebuilt his acting career, from the blacklisted ground up. Through a heavily doctored narrative of queer reclamation, he's finally making a name for himself, and hoping to claim prestige (and maybe a few awards) through the leading role in a historical biopic about the openly gay elven oracle, Aerthwyn Capaxath.
The only problem is, Aerthwyn Capaxath is the worst person that ever lived (or died). Just ask Dr. Rosalie Frostsong, a thoroughly unwilling expert on the subject.

Summary
Mizora does not just punish Wyll; she severs their contract entirely. Wyll burns in hellfire, but something goes wrong. The tadpole keeps him anchored to the mortal realm long enough for his friends to rescue him. Wyll revives, alive but a devil. Free but powerless. Safe, but with significant loss of his old skills.
But Dirge, sweet Dirge, always has Wyll's side. Dirge who got Wyll resurrected in the first place. Dirge who doesn't care that Wyll's a devil. Dirge who loves him anyway, horns and all, and worries and frets that Wyll will push himself too far and damage his skills further. Dirge who encourages Wyll that he can finally rest now and let others take up the Blade.
It should be everything Wyll wants.
And if it isn't, then Dirge will simply make Wyll want that.
