Summary
This is where I'm going to put all the stories that happen in the DWMP universe but don't necessarily fall within that particular arc. So some of it is (relevant) backstory, some of it is (irrelevant) backstory, some is side story, etc. I'll try and indicate in the notes where/when each story falls, but it generally won't have any impact on DWMP itself, and the collection shouldn't be read as at all cohesive.
Basically I want a place to fool around in this modern AU without feeling the need to be particularly plot-driven - but still explore some of the backstory I've created that so far exists only as notes.
(This is also to keep me from getting burnt out writing a chronological chaptered work - sometimes I just want to play around in the sandbox I've created!)
I often write dwmp fic that gets posted to my Tumblr but, because of length or quality or on account of some other whimsy, does not get cross-posted to Ao3. If you want to make sure you don't miss out, hit up my fic tag or follow me there!

This was a fic I posted on the Silmarillion Writer's Guild in 2016. It was a long time in the writing, and it is one of my favorites. I am posting it again after extensive editing and reworking, so if you liked it before, I encourage you to reread it now in its polished state. And if it's new to you, enjoy! :) It is full of pain.
--Celebrimbor, lord of Eregion, ignores the advice of his peers and welcomes a stranger into his city who promises to teach him techniques in smithing that will grant power over time and entropy. He learns many things from his new teacher that he was not prepared for.
The rest is history: Beware of Maiar bearing gifts.

Summary
Within the elven court of Zalach'ann, the members of a noble house decide what they're willing to sacrifice for honour, for power, and for love. One of those things turns out to be youngest son Khazri Il'harren, who's forced to flee his family to escape a horrifying fate. And then he wanders around a bunch getting accidentally adopted, regrettably married, and into stupid fights with ghosts.
