    You work at the Ghostlight Theatre. Sure, it might not pay much, and the hours are long, the work is hard… but you love it. The troupe is like a family, the director cares about you all.

    Things are going better for the theater lately than they have been, especially since all the chaos started a few years ago with the Demon Bull King being released. After the debut performance of a Western play called Hadestown, something feels off, though.

    Are the shadows thicker than you remember?

    Are things… being moved around?

    Oh, surely it’s just the ghosts of actors past! The lantern you light every night to act as their ghostlight should be enough to keep this ghost happy… right? That’s what it’s for, after all!

    Well. The ghost isn’t really a ghost. It’s a shadow demon… and a powerful one at that. He’s got an interest in that lantern of yours… and in you.

    If all the world’s a stage, you just hope your play isn’t a tragedy.

    Good thing you found a random house to sidle up to and ask to use their phone. Less of a good thing that the skeleton monster that lives in it is only placated by your sloppy jokes.
