“And what of you, Mr. Sparrow?” Beckett set his empty glass down. “What do you desire, at the end of all this?”
Sparrow downed his third—or perhaps fourth—drink. “Me? I’m a simple man. Ship’s deck beneath my feet, bottle of rum in me hand, pair of buxom wenches at my side—call me satisfied.”
Beckett leaned forward. “Is that so?”
The captain paused in the midst of pouring his next glass. “’Spose I could go for a few barrels of rum, maybe three or four wenches...”
“Why stop there, Jack? Why settle for a ship when you could have the whole fleet?”
Sparrow finally met his eyes. “I admit, I do like the sound of that.”--

Corvo manoeuvred the large bowl over to the sink and let a trickle of water pour in. It pooled in the bottom to create a murky sludge. He gave the thing an experimental stir, trying to blend the lump of eggy flour with the liquid.
“I think there’s something missing,” he concluded.--
It's Emily's birthday, and what better way to celebrate than have the Royal Protector and the Royal Spymaster bake a cake? Of course, neither have ever baked a cake before... what could go wrong?

Summary
The shutters were drawn tight, but a faint wisp of smoke drifted up from the chimney. Varric took a deep breath, checked Bianca one last time, and raised a fist to knock.
The door swung open before his hand could connect. Through a foot-wide crack, a human figure glared down at him from beneath an unkempt fringe of strawberry hair. His eyes were wild, his face looked far more sunken than the last time Varric had seen it, and a several-days-old beard covered his chin.
Varric grimaced. “You look like shit, Blondie.”--
Anders needs to be told what happened to Hawke, and Varric is the only one capable of doing so. Whether he can bring himself to, however, is another matter entirely.
