Summary
It was not planned, not really. It just so happened that Cyno and Al-haitham had things to discuss, as they do as the General Mahamatra and the Scribe, and chose to meet up at Tighnari’s place, since there was where Cyno stayed. Conveniently, Kaveh and Nilou needed something from the forest ranger, Dehya and Dunyarzard coincidentally tagged along. The cherry on the top was Lisa, who was on a paid vacation as the Libarian of the Favonious Knights, just happened to dropped in. The stars had aligned and Kaveh’s painting was no longer crooked on the wall, Al-haitham supposed.
Or: The gang meets up, to talk and reminisce about their Akademiya days. Kaveh makes some realisation, and everyone facepalms at Kaveh and Al-Haitham's antics

Summary
“You'd murder another man over me.”
“I'd let you help.” Adam was smiling, again. He did turn, slightly, to reach an arm back and grab a plastic bag. “Check these, then. No shovels, no duct tape.”
Ronan did lean back and check, though he doubted there'd be any such thing on word alone. He had the offhand thought Adam probably could lead him to a ditch and he'd just accept it and lay in his grave.
“Peas?” He said, instead of voicing whatever that bullshit was.
“Frozen peas.” Adam corrected, like the semantics mattered. “Better than bread.”
“For what?”
“Ducks.” Like it was obvious-
In which Ronan and Adam, after encountering life-threatening peril, now face the trials of early teen courtship. Emotional vulnerability comes with the territory.

Summary
“Really, now?” Adam snorted, “Sure. Hours, months even, of trying to get you motivated and writing. Nothing you've done has been remotely worth recording, but your midnight drinking binge was really the key. I bet I'll love it.”
“You will. It's about you.”
It took less time to process than Ronan expected. Or more. Seconds were blurring and signals crossing; once he'd hit the second bottle of cheap, convenience store vodka, things began to blend. Meld. All shit, jet-fuel alcohol sugars. Adam's face stilled, like the halting of facial procedures helped him compute information faster.
“And that…” Adam swallowed. “That was… inspiring for you?”
“Listen to the song and tell me how inspiring it is.” Ronan wiggled the device, again. “Come on. Most guys are flattered by this shit.”
“You wrote a song about me?”
“I write a lot of songs about you.” Ronan blinked, twice.

Summary
It felt irresponsible to leave.
He had willed the thought away, and breathed in the sleep-sweat of Ronan’s neck instead. He thought about the scratch of Ronan’s jaw, and the soft fury of his mouth. He thought about how far into the drive his first exit would be. He thought about Opal, who had hidden herself in the enthusiastic buttonbush that grew alongside the house; she had taken to crouching there whenever it looked like Adam and Ronan were doing things related to Leaving, and had gnawed an entire branch clean. She watched them as they swayed and whispered, and Adam had thought she would stay in the bush and not come see him at all, but he was wrong: at the last minute she had been unable to stand it, and had burst out to wrap herself around his legs.
It was impossible to leave them.
He had gotten in the car.
Adam leaves for college, and realizes he has no idea what comes next.

Summary
“You—” Adam blinked. “You’re trans?”
“As the devil.”
“The devil isn’t trans,” Adam argued. Because he could never not argue.
“Used to be an angel, didn’t he?” Ronan fired back. Because he could never not fire back. “That’s gotta be one hell of a transition.”
