Summary
Robin has a moment of confusion when she thinks she might have forgotten that it’s Halloween before she realises that the person standing before her —with eyes that look like all the graves have opened — is, in fact, Nancy Wheeler.
“Good lord Nancy,” she says without thinking, “you look terrible!”
“Hello Robin,” says Nancy, as though Robin is the last person in the whole world she wants to see.
—With her freshly minted double-first in modern languages from Oxford, Robin Buckley has her own plans for how she’s going to serve her country in wartime and none of them involve rotting in the rural backwater that is Hawkins-on-Lea.
These plans are scuppered when her very best friend Steve Harrington does something stupid and enlists, leaving her in charge of his farm. It’s all going about as well as can be expected when Nancy Wheeler turns up on the doorstep in the middle of the night, fresh from the fight: a little battered, a little broken and needing some help to put herself back together.

Summary
“Is Robin gay?”
Eddie gives Nancy a long, appraising look and it’s like his brown eyes are boring right through her.
“The question is Wheeler,” he says, “are you?”
“I don’t know,” she admits, and bursts into tears.—
It’s Robin, not Nancy, who needs a leg-up into the Upside Down, which leaves Nancy holding a foot clad in a red Converse sneaker at eye level, reading some graffiti which leaves her with some questions.
When the battle’s over she goes looking for answers.

Summary
Robin Buckley is not expecting to find love in Hawkins, Indiana full-stop, and she’s certainly not expecting to find it in the form of a chaotic, blonde cutie who’s on the run from just about everyone. Life is full of surprises.
—
There is more electricity in the inch of space between them than there was in the whole damn storm. Robin can feel her entire body buzz. Nina’s gorgeous, wry, mouth is open, her breath is high and fast in her chest, matching Robin’s. She reaches up and brushes Robin’s hair back behind her ear and her fingertips stay, lingering, on Robin’s cheek. Her brown eyes are locked on Robin’s and, if Robin was braver, she would move forward into the moment. But she isn’t and so she looks away. Which is how she sees the number ’09’ branded into the pale skin of Nina’s forearm. And because she’s thinking about what she’s just let slide through her grasp and not what she’s saying, the next thing that comes out from her mouth is:
“Can you move things with your mind?”
And then all hell breaks loose. -

'Bought the farm': (idiomatic, US, informal, euphemistic) To die; generally, to die in battle or in a plane crash.
—
“What do you want Ava?”
“I bought a farm.”
Beatrice frowns up at the ceiling at the turn of phrase — Where does Ava get this stuff? — “I’m well aware.”
“You are?” Ava sounds genuinely surprised.
“Yes?” says Beatrice, wondering if Ava’s been concussed at training. “You bought the farm — as you so inelegantly put it — twice, and then you came back to life, also twice, and here we are.” Beatrice refuses to think about the words as she says them, keeps the memories at arm’s length. “And I think you’ll find the expression is ‘bought the farm’.
“I’m so confused,” says Ava, “what are you talking about?”—
After Ava's return, Bea is struggling. Ava tries to make things better by buying them a farm.

Summary
Sara can hear the sound of her dad taking the screws out of the door handle. She’d get up and open the door for him, but she thinks she’ll just die here on the bathroom floor instead.
“Hey kiddo,” he says. “I was worried.” He looks her up and down and then goes and retrieves the blanket from the sofa. She lets him wrap it around her shoulders. He sits down on the cold tiles and scoots over to sit beside her.
“What’s going on?”
Sara doesn’t have the energy to lie to him.
“An alien made me pregnant with Ava’s baby.”
There is a pause and then Quentin starts to laugh.
“Dad, are you laughing at me?” Sara says indignantly.
“Oh honey, no, never at you,” says Quentin, but there’s still tears running down his face. “It’s just — I used to worry about you riding in cars with boys.”

Or, an almost but not really canon AvaLance kid fic.

Summary
Firefighters know the importance of good water pressure. Or, at least, that's what Ava would tell the crew when they asked why she always took a shower at the station.
The water pressure at Ava's apartment was shit, and the station always had hot water. So, every night, every morning, and sometimes, randomly in the middle of the day, Ava would take full advantage of the facilities.
Except that wasn't the whole truth. They really were great showers, sure, but the real reason Ava carefully planned every time she showered was what Ava was doing right now.
Sometimes, if Ava got the timing right and said just the right things, she could convince someone to join her in the shower.
So, tonight, during her second shower of the day, Ava was pressed against and three fingers deep inside one Lieutenant Beatrice Lin-Watson while the rest of their crew was obliviously watching Sharknado: The 4th Awakens across the firehouse.
Here's how Ava managed it.

Summary
“It’s a lot easier for me to keep my grip on you when I can actually feel your body.”
The phrase feel your body said in Kara’s voice rattles around in Lena’s head like a pinball machine, but she manages to shrug her sweater off and throw it somewhere behind them before she can second-guess herself. Kara is looking comfortable in a loose white t-shirt, and when she takes Lena by the waist and puts Lena’s hand on her shoulder the texture of it is light and soft.
“Let’s start from square one,” Kara says, so kindly that her next words take a few seconds to register in Lena’s brain. She tightens her grip on Lena’s waist, and says with full confidence:
“Dancing is a lot like sex.”
OR
Against her better judgement Lena agrees to compete on Dancing with the Stars for the PR boost. When her chemistry with her partner Kara gets misconstrued by the press, there’s obviously only one solution.

Not being able to go to work.
Oh, and living with her girlfriend, Lena. And her girlfriend's other girlfriend, Kara, who is the last person Andrea ever expected Lena to settle down with.
Not that there's anything wrong with Kara, exactly. Andrea almost gets it, in a way. Kara's pretty and perky and she cooks like an angel...
But still.
Then again, Andrea supposes she doesn't have to get it. After all, just because Lena's dating both of them doesn't mean they're dating each other.- Language:
