“Anybody here?” he called out, the bell above the door jangling all the way to the back of Tamyr’s workshop as he stepped inside. Tamyr looked up from the manual she was reading from behind the counter and nearly jumped out of her skin at the sight of his wan face. “Y-yes! We’re open! What can I do for you?”
The man held up his right arm and spun the scomp link that occupied the space where a hand would normally be. “Just looking for a tune-up. Heard this was the place to go.”

Summary
She's carved herself a space into his life, and he's not sure when it happened, but she's a part of his daily routine now, and he's not complaining. He finds he loves coming back to the room they share to see her shoes by the door and her toothbrush by the sink. He even loves the stupid things, like losing half his closet space, and finding pieces of her hair attached to everything he owns. It's delightfully domestic, and he never thought he'd like a life like this, but now he can't see it any way else.
Or, Cassian and Jyn share a room, but they share a bit more than that, too.

Summary
After Scarif, Jyn spends four days unconscious in the Yavin 4 medbay. She sleeps through the annihilation of Alderaan, the sudden appearance of a young Jedi, and his subsequent near-miraculous destruction of her father’s legacy.
When she wakes, groggy and in pain, the amount of information that spills out of Bodhi simply flows over her, as if she were a river-stone in the fast-flowing streams on Lah’mu.
The only thing that does stick is that Cassian is alive. Bodhi is smart enough to open with this fact, and repeats it several more times during their one-sided conversation.

Surviving Scarif left them with lots of time they didn't expect, partners they didn't choose, and feelings they didn't know what to do with.

Jyn is finding her place in the Rebellion. The pathfinder missions, fighting, and explosions she gets. Her new friendship with an actual royal princess, who has no qualms about dragging Jyn into her schemes, comes as a surprise. Which is all fine and good, Jyn is flexible, but she could deal with less scrutiny into her relationship with a certain serious spy. Cassian and her are friends, and that's the end of that. There's no future for either of them beyond this war and they both know it. Being practical is just part of being a soldier.
