Summary
Stede goes on a solo writer's retreat to a tiny cabin in the woods with just the bare essentials. No internet, no phone reception, and his car is parked a mile away. Cut off from distraction to focus on his craft. Stede desperately wants to write about love and adventure, but he fears he hasn’t actually lived enough to write on these topics. He hopes this retreat offers some kind of inspiration.

Can Stede Bonnet’s enthusiasm remind Ed why he loves cycling, and perhaps help him find some joy in his personal life too?

Ed has, in fact, heard a lot of it, mostly in Izzy’s outraged voice.
You know that twat hasn’t even raced a one-day Classic? No real road experience at all, just a handful of time trials. He’s a rower, for fuck’s sake, he’s not got the first idea how to handle himself in a group. He’s only here because his daddy owns the team. Totally unprofessional. Stupid fucking Stede Bonnet.
“So why are you here now, then?” he asks. “What did you do to get Fortune to smile on you so beautifully?”
“It’s a long story,” Stede replies.
“I’ve got all day. Come on, get your bike. We’ll go for a ride and you can tell me all about it.”- Language:

Summary
It's the late 90s. Stede, a senior in high school, takes a job at a local fast food franchise to earn some cash, hoping to make it out without his father's help. His trainer at work, Ed, wants to escape too. Maybe together they can get somewhere. Anywhere is better.
They'll get out, sure. But they have a whole lot to learn.
Childhood friends to lovers who don't talk about it to strangers to lovers, basically. Some angst, but hopefully balanced.
