All that was going through Grian’s head was
‘£5,000,000…’
‘£5,000,000.’
‘£5,000,000!’
The mere thought of winning £5,000,000 could very well be his undoing.
So much so, that after a while, Grian started to believe that he could win the £5,000,000.
‘I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?’
‘It didn’t mention any penalties for losing.’
‘And I’m sure whoever else is in this contest knows as much about it as I do.’
And so, Grian got up and started writing an acceptance letter.
Or,
Grian is a broke college student who came from a troubled past.
One day, he gets a letter from a mysterious sender.
The letter is inviting him to an event called “3rd Life”
The letter says that the winner of 3rd Life is awarded £5,000,000.
Grian, unaware of the life-altering choice he has just made, accepts the invitation…

Mumbo blinked a couple times, his hands rubbing against his eyes as the sleepy swirls in his eyes faded away.
“Grian? Wh– Are you okay? What happened?” Mumbo’s eyes narrowed as they laid on him, scanning him as if he were hiding something.
Grian looked up at Mumbo, vision slightly blurry as water clung to his eyelashes and began to speak, “It happened, Mumbo.”
The man’s eyes narrowed, “Wha— What happened? What’d you mean?”
"It happened- It- Mumbo-"
"What happened, Grian?"
“They declared war.”

Summary
The Double Life event ends and the players are returned to their original homes as they always are after the games conclusions, reeling and shakily picking up the pieces of themselves after the experience. Yet life can't really seem to go on. A very important piece of their lives, especially the Hermit's lives, is missing. Why the hell is taking Pearl so long to come back?
Back in the Double life server, inside of the ever looming inpenetrable dome, a red-hooded figure remains.Aka: Pearl somehow remains alive in the Double Life server even after Scott has died. It is up to Grian, Scott, and a few other volunteering hermits to go back to the place of their nightmares to rescure her. But who they find is not the same person they left.

Summary
“Maybe it’s because those first few nights spent underground are still imprinted in his mind; ash coated hair and worn out pickaxes, high pitched laughter strung out from his stupid jokes, an echo of camaraderie alight in their eyes. And he remembers thinking, oh, this is unfair.
Half lost in a dimly lit mineshaft. Diamonds shared in honour of tentative friendship. Loyalty shoved down his throat until he was choking on it.”
Pizza dies to a flurry of arrows, and Scar follows her to his grave in a haze of blinding crimson. Grian, sole survivor of the Sands, joins forces with Dogwarts, his once sworn enemy.
The truth of the matter, as it is wont to do, reveals itself to be much more complicated than first thought. Martyn tries his best to follow the unravelling thread.
