Summary
The first time Wolfwood saw Vash the Stampede was in a wanted poster.
Every Saloon in Noman’s Land had the poster up somewhere, showing the largest bounty to ever grace their walls and still lay unclaimed for as long as it existed. The sixty billion double dollars was a constant bait for bounty hunters and civilians alike. Cashing in that bounty would be like winning the lottery ten times over and still letting your future generations live in luxury.
Or: Vash doesn't only have scars across his body. Wolfwood finds out and nothing changes.

At first, only a few people sitting in front of the windows noticed it as they frowned confused with a slight crease of worry etched on their faces.
Heads were turned to meet others with the hope of meeting an expression of enlightenment.
The enlightenment came.
Abruptly the door was kicked open as a man trotted inside, the huge cross the man was carrying on his back, wrapped in dirtied torn cloth and secured by worn leather straps with rusty buckles…
The man himself wore dark black shades resting on the bridge of his nose only complimented by even more vividly blacker hair falling into his face.
