Summary
Jason and Sheila survive Ethiopia, held captive by the Joker and tortured to the breaking point for his sick amusement. As Bruce races to find them, Mother and Son form an unbreakable bond, one that threatens to up-end Jason’s life when they are freed and he struggles to adjust to life outside a cage. All the while, a seed planted by the Joker's torture grows.

Summary
Later, when his mind was his own and the adrenaline of a resurrection bled into quaking fear, Jason would recount the events of the night in crystal detail. The impossible angle of Bruce’s batarang, the collapse as the floor fell out beneath him, the sudden pain of his crushed torso chased by a loss of all feeling.
He would understand that he had survived the unsurvivable, for the second time in his life, and would know the great beyond he’d tasted for but a moment.
Or: Jason can't die. Not by a bullet, a knife, or the drum-beat song in his mind calling him back to the grave. When a shoot-out gone wrong lands him back in the grave, courtesy of Bruce, Jason decides give revenge a second chance.

Summary
After a catatonic Jason Todd is lowered into the Lazarus Pit, something wholly inhuman claws back out. Physically twisted into a monster, he abandons any hope of reclaiming his old life and settles for being the attack dog of Talia al Ghul. Summary
After Bruce attempted to stop Jason's crime-fighting with a cocktail of fear toxin, Jason went to war with his own nervous system to overcome the effects. Months later, he's back on the streets, kicking ass and taking names.
When he, Dick, and Tim attempt to capture Scarecrow, his tolerance allows him to fight the improved fear toxin to rescue his brothers, and exposes secrets he'd prefer buried.
