Emily Evans has a problem. She has gone through three seasons and has not yet married. To speed up the process a bit, her parents told her that if she could not find a match, she would be cut off.
Douglas Bryon has nothing to his name. His older twin brother is to be the next Viscount of Berwickshire and stands to inherit their father’s estate. But then his father designated that Douglas will inherit his estate, if he can marry for love.
Seeing the solution to their problems, the two decided to court the other. After all, security is the best romance.
