Summary

Summary
In spite of the Chesapeake Ripper allegedly being caught, Will Graham discovered the dark secret Hannibal Lecter was set on keeping from him and he ended their relationship. Weeks have passed since he left, and Will believes his window to get Jack Crawford to believe him has closed so he has to figure out how to convince people that the man behind bars is innocent and Hannibal is the man they're looking for. In the meantime, more gruesome murders get the attention of the FBI, and Will finds himself pulled back into working cases as a freelance consultant.

“Will Graham is dead. Complications at the hospital, injuries too complex, you were beyond saving. Just another victim of the Ripper. And when Lecter sees that you’re dead, that he played a part in your death, he’ll come back for you.”
“And why would he do that?” Will asks, but it comes out weak, “He’ll either… Sense that it’s a trap and ignore it, or he’ll be disinterested. He tried to kill me Jack, why would he return if he got what he wanted? He has no reason to… To care about me. About that.”
“I know that he will want to be sure. And I know as well as you do that he didn’t intend to kill you that night. Even if he senses a trap, he’ll consider himself too clever to be caught. He will come back for you. To claim you, one way or another.”

OR: After the events of Mizumono (S2E13), Jack goes a little off the rails. In an effort to lure Hannibal back and save Will from himself, he kidnaps Will and fakes his death. His plan works, but not in the way he expects...

Summary
Despite the yelling, the flashing lights and clicks of shutter buttons, the ever-mounting noise, Lounds’ voice cut through like the ring of a bell, sharp and high. “Mr. Graham,” she shouted, “didn’t they find you at Stammets’ table?”
Jack Crawford repeated, “No further questions!” at the top of his lungs like a mantra. The way a child would, in combination with ears covered and eyes screwed shut, to block out an unpleasant sound.
“Did you eat them!” Lounds yelled over the din. “Did you eat the mushrooms!”

Summary
In the throes of encephalitis, Will goes to Hannibal's in search of help and a guide. In the process he puts one too many puzzle pieces together and Hannibal decides that Will cannot leave knowing what he knows. While unexpected for them both, for Hannibal this turn of events could not be more tantalizing as he struggles to shape Will into what he needs to become.
