Summary

He looked up at Mohan, keen-eyed and sharp. “Well, I wear dog tags, too,” he said.

“I‒I didn’t reject you,” She forces out. She watches as the words sink in, his eyes trained on her, probably feeling a number of things but conveying none of it. Then he takes a deep breath and she swallows hard. Finally, he turns away from the edge of the roof to face her completely.
“Are you only saying that because you think I’m gonna jump or…?”
She blinks, surprised. In all honesty, she’d kind of forgotten about that part.

Summary
Big news? Sydney thought. This was huge. Carmen Berzatto, stellar junior record and known reserve driver, was finally getting an F1 drive. Everyone thought he’d been left in the shadows and banished to cars only, but he was getting the last laugh. At last, a chance to prove himself worthy amongst the many greats and make a real name for himself. Sydney had always found herself rooting for guys like Carmen. Athletes who weren’t born with a silver spoon in their mouths or came from motorsport royalty. Drivers who proved themself through their abilities and accomplishments.

Summary
Eventually they get up. They shower together, water hot and steamy against their skin. Sydney washes his hair, massaging his scalp while he leans into her touch. He borrows a white t-shirt from her and leaves his one from last night in her hamper as they get dressed. They make breakfast together. Carmy fries up some eggs while Sydney makes them coffee.
It’s quiet, domestic even.
Almost normal, if normal is what they’re aiming for.
