Summary
“A… ball?” Terence coughed, on the verge of choking on wine and spit.
His army was dying like little molboros, crushed in the swamps, pushed back into the marshlands by the Republican army, the people were suffering from hunger and deprivation and he was organizing a sumptuous party wasting who knows how much money from the Imperial coffers?
“To raise the morale of the people, to… show off how our Sanbréque is still great.”
Terence did not belong to that world of muslins, brocades and glittering candelabras, no more than Dion did, but he would have followed him to the gates of the Underworld, so he nodded slowly, trying to chase away the sense of unease that was growing in him.The story is set in the year 878, shortly before the events of the game. Dion and Terence will soon be sent to the front for what the Emperor assumes will be a brief and glorious war against Dhalmekia. A ball is given at the Imperial Court of Sanbréque: Terence is ready to bear seeing his prince distant and prey to the hypocrisy of high society, but Dion has a surprise for him!
