Summary
"Badlands to me is like this futuristic society, this dystopia in the future where everything is corrupt and it’s a wasteland and it’s kinda chaotic... Everyone around is like, “Oh, those are the Badlands, we don’t go there.” I make a decision to leave...even though the Badlands were all I’ve ever known, and venturing out into the wilderness around and hoping to find solace somewhere else." - Halsey

Summary
A bedslave as a present from Titus is the last way Lexa expects the day to end. Clarke is nothing but a thin, weightless girl littered with bruises and cuts, brainwashed to serve, and Lexa is unsure of what to do. She as the Heda has never learned how to deal with people in such situations, after all.
It turns out Lexa doesn't need to know about everything, though, because Clarke easily becomes her first priority to take care of without any lessons.

Summary
"Her father, however, with the back doors closed from all the commotion and the front porch windows open, had recognized it instantly. His hand stopped from where it had been flipping the next pancake, ears tuned in to the outside to make sure he was hearing things correctly, then the sound of that old truck door shutting sounded throughout the house.
Christen angled her head backwards as the back door was opened, watching her father peak his head out quickly and wipe his hands on a hand towel. Every hair on her body stood up, as if lightening was about to strike through the blue sky above her head.
“There’s someone at the door for you, baby.”

Summary
Clarke Griffin and Lexa Woods are soulmates. They met as children and never parted. After graduating high school, Clarke, a genius in her own right, completed her undergraduate degree, medical school and her surgical residency all before the age of twenty-three. She then quickly became one of the foremost surgeons in her field. Lexa meanwhile, followed her childhood dream and became a firefighter. Like, Clarke, she rose through the ranks quickly and was a Captain before the age of twenty-five. Clarke and Lexa always worked closely together, with Clarke's hospital and Lexa's firehouse often seeming like one cohesive unit. Everything was going well for the couple and they even started a family. Without a doubt, the couple was the power couple in Polis. When tragedy seemingly strikes and uncovers a devious plot, involving faces from their pasts they'd rather forget, how will they move on? Will those who plotted against them prevail or will the plotters succeed?
