Summary
This is an AU (occasionally canon-compliant) sixth year onwards story exploring the main characters’ journeys through the war. Each of the trio pose a unique threat to the Death Eaters. Harry is important to Voldemort. Hermione is hated for her very existence and symbolic to the other side. Ron is hunted for betraying pureblood supremacy. The leaders of the Order realize the danger that all three face, and help train them to fight. But even fighting may not be enough to win. The young Slytherins also navigating their own identities and who they want to be in this war beyond their family choices. Snape prepares Draco to survive daily contact with the Dark Lord and remain unharmed. In turn, Draco desperately seeks to protect and shield all his loved ones and friends. Each of them must learn to wield magic in ways the world has hardly seen before. Each must find the path to becoming the greatest wielders of magic the world have seen. It is the only way to have a chance at stopping the Dark Lord, who continues to push the boundaries of known magic towards increasing darkness for the world.

Summary
Short version: A different year five at Hogwarts in an alternate universe where all of the other books leading up to this one were slightly different.
Long version: This is basically me changing a lot of stuff about how Hogwarts and the wizarding world works, then writing a story about how Harry managed to defeat Voldemort at the end of the Triwizard Tournament with the help of a man he knew next to nothing about named Regulus Black.
The story begins, as per usual, on Harry's birthday, as Harry is presented with the realization that his next year at Hogwarts will be very different this time. He is forced to think about what will he actually do now that his supposed "destiny" to face the Dark Lord had already came and went.
Disclaimer: I wrote this for a friend, and I'm definitely not as well versed on the HP universe as she is, so I'll do my best here, but I'm out of my comfort zone, so be warned.
