Summary
Prologue:
Ranboo woke up to the loud screams of the missile. Lady Death had recently revived them from their hell of an afterlife. But as everyone who ever stepped foot in the SMP knows: nothing good lasts forever.
The blaring noise echoed through every block on the Dream SMP. Ranboo jolted up from bed as the alarm echoed through their house, shaking the very foundation to the core. They leaped up and ran outside to see the smoke in the blue ocean sky above them. Tubbo's nuke hung in the air, just a spec in the distance, splitting off in all different ways. Section by section moving to different parts of the SMP: one aimed directly towards them. And they knew it was too late, that there was no use running. So, they sat down among the wilting alliums, and watched their impending doom grow closer. It was for the better of them all, they supposed.
When the nuke hit it all went black.
And from the dark, a quiet voop boomed. And then fate changed course, though for only three. And the suffocating loud of the surrounding silence faded to calm.
In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity...

Summary
It never matters what time of day, it always kept at it. Always stalking towards him no matter the cost.
Of course, he'd only figured that out when he'd woken up to screams.
Tommy shuddered as he tried to push the images of shattering glass and blood from his mind. He didn't stick around to see who survived that night. More people would've gotten hurt if he hadn't left. It would do anything to get tho him.
Being pushed farther and farther from a life of simple pleasures and calm times leaves only a hollow husk of what he once was. He missed his old boring life. But he can't go back. He's changed...
And it has changed right along with him.

Wilbur is a Reaper, one of the three immortals who work for the Goddess of Death in the collection of souls. Two, since his brother has been missing for a year and a half. So when he is given an assignment to monitor a young prince with a brain tumour, he slowly becomes attached.

In the long list of rules that Dream gave him, there were four that stuck out as the most important. Four rules that he could never break.
Stick close to the island when swimming. Always be back before seven. Never complain or hesitate to give Dream his pelt. And never, ever interact with humans.
Tommy didn’t break any of those rules often, and if he did it was a one time thing, a mistake. But this wasn’t a mistake. This was a very deliberate, very stupid move on his part and Dream would kill him if he knew what Tommy was doing. Fifteen years Tommy had lived here, and never once had he intentionally broken one of Dream’s rules. Until now.
He swims closer to the three humans.
