His merger control of his own aether flares as he feels that burningly familiar touch of Hades’s own, and he tries to push back against it. “Stop that, and let me help you.”
The words knock the breath from him in a sob that he barely catches behind his teeth even as the Ancient’s aether pushes into him, through him, like a wave. He remembers that feeling, knows it, and shudders with how much he has missed it, breath caught between his ribs even as his heart tries to shatter them from inside.Series

They hadn’t known. There hadn’t been time for them to know. And had they known, would it have repulsed them? This time, it was worse. So much worse, watching those who should comfort you rejoice in what you’d been forced to do by their very actions. This time, there was no one who could ever know. The revulsion would be absolute.
