Summary
It’s been years since Castiel flew. Just to fly.
When the Earth was new, and all was peaceful, his entire garrison would fly between the heavens and the Earth. Gathered in large groups, glowing brighter than the sun, they would soar through the stars.
Those were the times Castiel felt all his brothers’ and sisters’ grace intertwine with his, and he was happy. To any being on Earth at the time, they looked like large comets circling the sky in the night. They would sing or laugh, enjoy the feeling of spreading their wings and each other’s company.
As time went on, the times when they flew together started to diminish. The younger ones would often fly when they weren’t busy, and the archangels would fly alone to discuss amongst themselves.
But that was before Lucifer rebelled.

Something weird was definitely happening to him. Everything seemed fine when he looked around; the people, the police cars, the skyline. But when he looked at Midoriya it was like everything became fuzzy and all he could focus on was his face. Were his eyes always so bright? And were his freckles that noticeable? When he talked to the paramedics, he couldn't understand what he was saying unless it was Todoroki's name. When Midoriya looked back down at him Todoroki coughed into his fist to avoid eye contact, and noticed a little bit of pink dust. He blinked at it, but it quickly dissolved, like cotton candy in water.
Todoroki fights a villain while on an internship, and her quirk has some interesting side effects.

The kid froze. Surely he was joking. Geoff Lazer Ramsey, the most notorious crime lord in all of Los Santos, couldn't possibly be concerned with the well being of a useless homeless kid who had resorted to mugging him just to survive, could he?
Geoff, oddly enough, had a soft spot for kids.

You know this is a foolish idea, but you have always been a foolish girl. No good can come out of this, it is irresponsible and most likely a little unethical. However, he makes you laugh and you can’t help but feel comfortable in his presence, a sense of safety you had never felt in your life before.
You first met him when he crashed into your life. Literally. He had tumbled through your fire escape, while you stood in the tiny hallway that led to your bedroom. He swore viciously as he got tangled up in your curtains that you had hung to give more privacy than those cheap flimsy ones your landlord called shades.
You couldn’t help but laugh at the infamous Red Hood tangled up in your blackout curtains.
