Summary
Louis wakes up mouthing at the skin of Lestat's throat.
His fangs feel heavy in his mouth and when he swallows reflexively they slightly graze Lestat's skin, drawing the tiniest pinpricks of blood. Shame burns his throat and sloshes around hot and thick in a stomach where only Lestat's blood should be—that's what Lestat had told him as much the first night after he was turned anyway, remembering the soft rumbling in his ear and the long line of heat against Louis' back and the hand over Louis' belly that would occasionally flex and tighten as they fed or fucked.
Louis, Lestat, and two mornings in a marriage.

There is arousal, of course, but more than anything it's the reality of it: them enclosed in the secret world of their coffin, two lovers murmuring to each other in the shadowed dark. “How about you, huh? Glittering gold that you are. Must have turned plenty of heads on a dance floor.”
“Mhm, perhaps one or two,” Lestat says with a false modesty that sits about as well as an ill-fitting suit and Louis bites his lip for it and soothes it with his tongue, delighting in the hitch of Lestat's breath and how his arms tighten around him. “But none I would like to enchant as much as you.”
Louis and Lestat dance for the first time.

How unsatisfied you must be still.” He mouths wetly over Louis’ jaw and Louis wrenches his eyes shut but the absence of sight only elevates it somehow, the hunger a persistent ache in his bones and the back of his skull. Lestat's words and Lestat's mouth and Lestat's neck, all his blood thrumming just under the surface. Louis’ fangs scrape the inside of his gums. “How you must hunger.”
Louis reckons with Claudia's absence and the blood and Lestat.
