“Can you come down from the tree?" Armin called. "Someone just fired the regroup flare.”
“Yeah, I’m coming.”
Mikasa jumped down from her branch, landing next to Armin. She dusted herself off with the air of someone who’d just gone down a vaguely entertaining slide at the playpark, and started towards where the horses were.
Well, where the horses were supposed to be.
“Where’d they go?” Armin heard himself ask dumbly. Mikasa inspected the mud carefully.
“West,” she said, pointing to the tracks. “Long gone by now. I don’t think we’ll catch up."
“We should try anyway,” Armin decided.
“It’s not far,” said Mikasa, in an attempt to raise Armin’s spirits. It wasn’t a lie, but it was certainly an oversimplification of the truth.
Armin smiled. “Alright. South, right?”
“South,” Mikasa agreed, and they set off through the trees.
OR: Armin & Mikasa get separated from the group and must make their way back across titan country armed with only Armin's brain, the power of friendship - oh, and Mikasa's swords.

Summary
Shoyo was gonna beat that King of the Court even if it killed him. He was going to defeat him in a glorious volleyball battle that everyone would still be talking about for eons to come. “Do you remember that kid from Karasuno?” the old folks would reminisce. “He was the pride of our town…wasn't it wonderful how he completely destroyed that high-handed King fellow? And his volleyball skills! Simply superb!”
With those words echoing in his mind, Shoyo bounced up to the door of the court, reaching to slide it open with great enthusiasm, already imagining the bounce of volleyballs against the hard floor.
Except - well - it sounded very real…
“Huh?” said a voice that sounded suspiciously familiar.
“IT'S YOU!” Shoyo screeched, staring at the figure, still frozen in a setting position.
The volleyball, previously floating in midair, flung itself onto Kageyama's head. “Ow,” said Kageyama.
You have gotta be kidding me, said Shoyo's internal voice.
“You have gotta be kidding me,” said Shoyo's real voice. “Oh. Did I say that out loud?”

“You’re late,” Mu Qing greeted. He was leaning against the hood of his shiny new car and scowling disapprovingly at Feng Xin’s steaming coffee cup.
“So are you. You’re supposed to go inside, you know,” Feng Xin returned, moving to walk past.
“I’ve already been inside,” Mu Qing sneered. “We’re supposed to be setting out now."
“At least let me clock in first.”
Mu Qing shrugged. “Take your time. I could probably solve this by myself anyway.”
“Thanks for waiting,” said Feng Xin insincerely, already climbing into the passenger seat. “Let’s go.”
“Who put you in charge?” Mu Qing complained, sliding into the driver’s seat and turning the key. “But for once you’re right. Let’s go.”
They drove in tense silence, Feng Xin shuffling the debrief papers just for something to do.
“Are you gonna read those out?” Mu Qing asked.
“What, didn’t you wait to be briefed?” Feng Xin teased.
“Of course I waited!” Mu Qing yelled. “Don’t read the papers, then! I don’t care!”
“Oh, but since you asked so nicely…”
“No! I don’t want to hear it!”

Nobara looked scandalised. “Those look like they were made in the year 2000.”
“That was a good year!”
“Why are they so skinny? Who dresses like that??”
“I have been known to-“
“And oh my god, there aren’t even any pockets, what’s the point-“

“It’s so painfully millennial, I can’t even-“
“If you don’t like it, put it back,” Satoru sniffed, handing her the jeans. She immediately shoved them back onto the rack and turned on her heel.
“Let’s leave before you embarrass me any more.”

“What? No!” Suga drew a line at the bottom of the page for Hinata to sign along. “He said they weren’t stupid, I said they were, how else are we going to settle this?”
“Don’t worry!” Hinata assured them both, happily writing his name. “’S only for a day, anyway!”
“Ah-ah,” Suga chided. “You’ve signed the paper. Stop talking!”
Hinata clamped a hand over his mouth and bowed his apology. “Swoosh?” he asked, pointing to the paper.
“What are you on about,” said Suga; it wasn’t phrased like a question.
“This is gonna go terribly,” Asahi groaned.

Kiyoomi had loved Atsumu long, long before the rest of the universe did; back in their awkward pre-pubescent days when Atsumu’s incubus blood still sat dormant and quiet in his veins, back when Atsumu used to pop the collar of his polo shirts because he thought it looked cooler and grew out his bangs to hide his acne and tried to squash down the thick drawl of his accent to fit in better with the snobby prep kids.

Clearly Iwaizumi had a checkered past. Kyoutani has never asked about it, nor has Iwaizumi ever brought it up. He knows it’s a sore spot for his mentor, just like the gorgeous Monte Carlo he keeps hidden away is, so he leaves it alone. Out on the streets, you learn a little something about when to turn a blind eye in order to survive; Kyoutani knows better than most to leave the past of men like Iwaizumi well alone.
It’s probably got something to do with the boy in the polaroids, though.
