When Steve Rogers wakes up in the 21st century, he finds that the world had moved on by placing Captain America on a pedestal that he doesn't think he can even scratch the surface of - Captain America is the symbol of hope and bravery and all things good, while Steve is lost, confused, and has had to fight tooth and nail to get where he is. Which includes lying on enlistment forms about everything but his name, so that includes his age.

His godfather, Sirius Black would grin and claim that he was the baby’s favorite, why wouldn’t he be, after all the baby had smiled for the first time in his arms.
