When it came to android development, Jungkook was a prodigy with it. Living in a less than favorable world, he managed to scrape together pieces to build an android that was indistinguishable from most humans he knew. The only problem with the build he created, was that Hoseok needed a stronger processor to prevent from constantly overheating. Luckily for Jungkook, there was exactly one that worked. Unlucky for him, it was in the hands of a scrapyard owner by the name of Yoongi who had a clear disdain for cyborgs and no interest in giving it to anyone but his own dysfunctional android.

“I proposed to my boyfriend.” Yoongi spoke up after a moment of silence. His voice was monotonous, it didn’t sound even the slightest bit remorseful as he recounted his story. “And then killed him before he got the chance to say yes.”
Jungkook’s eyes went wide as he turned his attention to the man beside him. His mouth hung open for a second as he tried to process what the man said. After a moment, he found himself shaking off the initial surprise of the comment. “That’s it?”

Summary
Ryuji’s two years out of graduating from the Colony Defense Force program when he gets his first real assignment in deep space. It’s not something in his field as a fighter pilot, he’ll basically be acting as a glorified ambulance driver. If he can pull it off, in a year he can put in for a transfer. It might be his only chance. He’s never been good at following the chain of command and he doesn’t shine academically, but he knows ships. He knows how to fly them, build them, repair them. It’s the only reason he was able to get into the program in the first place. It’s the only thing he’s good at.
He’s surprised when someone takes notice, especially when that someone is Commander Akira Kurusu. The man is considered a hero. He was there during the fall of Shido, when the entire planet was wiped off the map. Now he’s a walking poster child for the Alliance of Medical Emergency Services, AMES. He leads a specialized team that travels from planet to planet, offering aid where it's needed. It’s the complete opposite of everything Ryuji was trained to do, but he’s finding it impossible to say no. Especially when he’s going to be serving under such an attractive commander.

Wha- did he hear that right?
Akira swallowed. Okay, he was probably just pulling out the one-liner he'd heard from movies to sound cool in front of him. Very cheesy and in fact uncool, very dorky, very Ryuji. It was in these lameass moments of his that he felt attraction bordering on or even more than when his boyfriend was being quite genuinely cool and hot.
Considering the nature of their relationship, it didn't exactly imply mere words as thanks.
