Hawkmoth was defeated, which left poor Adrien Agreste both fatherless and jobless. His father’s death and the sudden betrayal coming from his long time friend and partner, Ladybug, sends him into corners of Paris he never thought he would explore.
And he also meets Luka Couffaine, the human version of a Nirvana song. Adrien knows this because grief took him to strange playlists on Spotify as well.

A prelude to Turning Tables: Origins - Freedom
After the battle with Hack-San, Scarabella has a talk with Ladybug. This is the story of how identities were revealed, Adrien and Marinette dated and became exes (who are now best friends), how the core team formed, and how Luka realized his feelings for Adrien.
This prelude is more focused on Adrien and Marinette's non-endgame relationship and the team's identity reveals. Which is why I decided to separate it from the main origins fic, which shifts to be more heavily Lukadrien focused. (You can jump right into Turning Tables: Origins - Freedom without reading this part, if you'd like.)

All going great, until it suddenly isn't, Paris's favorite couple breaking up seemingly out of nowhere. Adrien finds himself returning to Luka, wanting to rekindle what friendship they had from the past. In a life full of choices, fate can only get you so far.
