Summary
The day George won Silverstone almost instantly became one of his favorites, beaten only by the day he finally confessed his feelings for his best friend. They both play out pleasantly in his memory as he prepares to compete today, although neither is actually important to the race at hand. There’s something about it–racing like this with Alex–that allows his mind to wander, as if doing so is second nature to him, and at this point it may as well be. Considering they grew up together, he’s no stranger to his fiancé’s passion on the track. Racing with Alex is as natural as breathing to him, and every battle between the two is just further evidence of that fact. Being wheel-to-wheel with the love of his life is a feeling unlike any other, and the chance of that happening today has him anxious to start.

“Oh my god that's right, are you okay? Do you need anything? Are you in pain? I know the rest of the pan is left but I’ll text Alex to bring you more once I remember how to type.” He promises, slipping his hands away and looking for his phone that had likely been lost somewhere in his comforter. Kimi whines a little at the removal of his hands, the warmth they provide leaving him cold and yearning for the touch again. “Did I hurt you?” Oliver asks, wholly misinterpreting his distress and pausing his search to survey Kimi’s condition with concerned eyes.
“No! Uh, I mean no, of course you didn’t,” He starts, blushing as he pushes his next request past his lips. “Will you put your hands back though? They- It’s just that they felt really nice, the warmth and all.” Kimi begins to explain, but the hands return almost immediately, gently spreading across his stomach like before and effectively heating him. “And don’t worry about texting Alex, there are more than enough in there.” He comments once they’ve settled again, using his hand to wave it off in an attempt to convey how inconsequential Ollie’s thievery was.

Summary
Kimi doesn’t realize it until the first sob is wrung from his body, but he’s crying now. Full blown, hard to breathe, earth shattering sobs are escaping him, completely unable to evade the onslaught of self-hate plaguing him. Vaguely, he hears Ollie enter the apartment, but it does little more than make him cry harder at the thought of having to face his roommate.
Would Ollie be disappointed in him too? Would he tell him all of the ways he could’ve improved during the race? Would he be yet another person to tell him he didn’t deserve his seat?
The very thought made his chest ache, as if his heart was physically harmed by it, the organ twisting painfully in his chest as he hiccups through breathing.

Summary
To put it simply, Kimi thought this entire idea was stupid. He's a grown man who absolutely does not need a chore chart, even if his stubborn, starry eyed, roommate thinks they do. On top of this, the chart doesn’t need to be decorated, covered in various stickers and maybe even glitter, if he looks closely enough. And it certainly doesn’t need to be hung up in the direct middle of their refrigerator, surrounded by all of their actually important schedules, calendars, and lists, as if it's of equal importance.
Generally, he doesn’t make much of a fuss about the chart, reservations about it aside, but it’s his week to do the dishes and that little fact is currently making him want to die. Okay, that’s a bit dramatic, but he really really does not want to. He stares at the chart, like it’ll make the reality of it change, glaring at the giant Haas magnet holding it up as if it has personally offended him by doing so. “Ollie…” Kimi says, the whine evident in his voice as his eyes flit over to the Brit who is currently typing away at his laptop, likely answering emails despite being on summer break and their promises to each other to cut out work for it.

Upon deducing that nobody in the immediate vicinity cared about who they were, he placed a hand on Max’s shoulder, seemingly jostling him from whatever trance he’d been in, if his flinch was anything to go by.
“Are you okay, chéri?” He questions, eyeing the way Max seems to exhale at his touch as if he’d been wound tightly and was only now being allowed to relax. “Yes, it's just hot.” Max comments back, hoping to quell the concern he sees brewing in his boyfriend's eyes. It isn’t a lie, technically, although the pointed look he receives from Charles makes it clear that he wasn’t going to get off that easily. “It is! Twenty six degrees is ridiculous and we should be on a yacht in Monaco, not in the most crowded place on Earth.”
He was being dramatic, but Charles caught the nugget of truth in his boyfriend's lie.
He didn’t want to be here.

It was supposed to be a fake enemies arc.
It should’ve been all about the title fight.
But now Ollie’s taking cold showers out of pure secondhand embarrassment, losing his mind over Tumblr memes, and seriously questioning how long Kimi’s known he’s been in love.By the time they reach Abu Dhabi, one of them will win the WDC.
And the other will get tackled in Parc Fermé and kissed on the helmet.(Spoiler: it’s the same person.)

His journey takes him to Australia. In Melbourne, intrigued by the buzz around the Grand Prix and driven by a pang of nostalgia, Lando buys a last-minute ticket to the grandstands at the Albert Park circuit. Not knowing much about the current season, he just watches… until his gaze lands on a solitary man across the paddock. He has a serious expression, headphones resting around his neck, and eyes lost on the track. There was something intriguing in the way he looked — like he carried the weight of the world and still managed to find beauty in speed.
Lando takes a photo of him. A spontaneous click. He didn’t know who he was — he just thought he looked beautiful. Sweet. Intense. He posted it later with the caption:
