"I've told you this before Sas, how can I possibly expect myself to become Hokage when I can't even save a frien-" Sasuke cut him off.
"Friends don't do this. This doesn't feel like a friendship, Naruto. Friends don't chase friends for 5 years straight instead of living on. Friends don't fight the way we do. Friends don't try to kill each other as many times as we have. They don't." Sasuke spoke.
And he was right. Naruto thought for a moment. They both looked out to the sunset on the hill. The only things worth seeing in Konoha were the lush forests and the setting summer sun. A breeze blew past the two boys, rustling hair and billowing loose clothes.

"You don't notice how House treats you lately?", Cuddy asked. "The touching? The pet names? Adjusting your tie during the board meeting the other day? Referring to you as his hubby in front of that homophobic lady?"
"Oh, god", Wilson mumbled. "Please tell me that not everyone is a talking about this. Once again, we're –"
"I know that you are", Cuddy finger-quoted, "not gay. But either House is up to something and dialling up this PDA is part of a bigger plan. One that you and I will have to clean up after once it blows up in his face."
"Or?", Wilson asked.
Cuddy gave him a last, amused look. "Or he's actually into you."

In which House turns affectionate, Wilson suspects a prank, and both are emotionally inept idiots.

Summary
The attack on the Northern Water Tribe goes differently, Aang and the ocean spirit don’t destroy the entire Fire Nation fleet, only most of them.
Zhao escapes, taking Sokka and a few other Water Tribe men as prisoners. Knowing Sokka is traveling with the Avatar he gets sent to Zhao’s “special prison camp” that is hidden near the Earth Kingdom colonies.
Sokka gets a taste of the real war, not the war that he thinks he knows from traveling with the Avatar. While Zhao’s prisoner, he struggles to survive the inhuman conditions. Alone and thought to be dead, he feels himself slowly losing hope.
Seeing a familiar face brings back his hope, even if that face is the scarred Prince of the Fire Nation.
Sokka and Zuko come together to survive and end up depending on each other for a lot more than they ever thought possible.

Summary
“Your dad,” Sokka starts, then swallows hard. “Your dad dueled you, burned half of your face off, and then banished you because you spoke when you shouldn’t have?”
Guilt festers and bubbles like black tar in Zuko’s chest. “I didn’t just speak. I questioned and insulted one of his highest-ranking generals—but the man was planning a massacre! He shouldn’t have—” Zuko clamps his mouth shut, his teeth clicking together, and swallows thickly. “I mean. I found the tactic he proposed very startling, but it wasn’t my place to question such things. I’m sure he had his reasons.”
“Tui and La what the absolute fuck,” Sokka whispers.
[Zuko gets imprisoned with Sokka and Katara during the winter solstice, and some very unfortunate things come to light. Alternatively: the gaang
kidnapsadopts Zuko in book one after discovering just how awful his father is.] -

Summary
Chief Arnook never assigns Sokka to protect Princess Yue, so he goes to fight the Fire Nation with the other men. When the moon dies and the ocean spirit takes its revenge, Sokka is caught standing on the deck of a Fire Nation ship. Sokka should have drowned… and he would have drowned, if not for a certain Fire Nation raft fleeing the North Pole.
[An enemies-to-lovers season 2 rewrite, where Sokka is separated from the gaang during the Siege of the North, and travels the Earth Kingdom with Zuko instead].

Summary
Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)
Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.
And they argue.
A lot.

Summary
The gang is adjusting to life in Ba Sing Se when an unsuspected discovery lands them in custody of a surprisingly well-mannered Zuko (though his temper is a nasty thing). Exiled, powerless, and with a ridiculously large bounty on his head, Zuko has to decide how he's going to let the rest of his life play out. Trust grows gradually through trial and error, through war and laughter, and maybe just maybe through a belonging Zuko never imagined he'd feel again.
"If I am lost, light my path.
If I falter, temper my spirit.
Let my flame burn steady, not wild.
Let my fire bring warmth, not destruction.
Let me walk in balance, with honor of my own making."

“So....What did he do?”
“You don’t want to know,” House replies, voice barely audible and shockingly hollow.
“I do. I want you to open up and talk, and I want to be here to help you through it,” Wilson says, moving closer to House.
“No,” House breathes. “I mean you really don’t want to know.”
