Summary
The Bishops established a near-perfect system in Dema. Routine, monotony, and structure, it all works to numb the citizens, while Vialism breeds devotion and desire for Glory through means of self-destruction. It’s almost perfect, but a few still slip through the cracks.
One citizen sees Vialism as a means to an end. A way to escape the slot she’s been put in, to find some semblance of comfort in her short life. Another sees it as a burden — a duty placed on his shoulders by a higher power he barely understands. But one thing they agree on is that the Concrete City isn’t their home, but their prison. And someone on the outside is trying to light the way for escape.

Summary
Kamino has fallen, and though the Galaxy has moved on, the Bad Batch hasn't. Try as they might, there's an unrest growing in the new Empire, one they can't ignore forever. But if they’re going to help Rex in saving their Brothers, the Batch will need all the help they can get, though they might not like where they find it. But desperate times call for uneasy alliances.
Meanwhile, Crosshair starts to doubt his loyalty to the Empire when he's assigned to a new, secret program called Inquisitorius.

Summary
Echo doesn't believe this is real. But after fleeing from Skako Minor, and reuniting with the 501st on Anaxes, Echo cannot deny reality; he's finally free.
Yet, he's never felt more alone.
To the rest of his brothers, he's more machine than man. To the Kaminoans, he's a liability. The 501st is empty without his brother. And as he struggles to reintegrate, he's plagued by nightmares. Memories of the Citadel, of Wat Tambor, of being stripped of his humanity, of being ripped apart and put back together over and over and over...
Echo knows firsthand; in war, it's harder to be the one that survives. But he'll learn this time, he doesn't have to do it alone.

Summary
He passes by the window, as he does every night, but a flash of colour makes him stop dead in his tracks. He whips his head to the side, looking out the glass.
A man, dressed in dark olive greens and yellow stripes, a yellow bandana pulled up over the lower half of his face, is standing on the ground outside and holding a flaming torch, looking directly up at him.-----------
Tyler is just trying to live his life as an exceptional citizen of Dema, but the Torchbearer won't leave him alone.

Summary
This is the World, and he is its faithful Citizen. He knows the Layout as it unwinds in his mind, an endless procession of hallways and loosely fitted-together rooms, the many statues and niches, the courtyards open to the gray sky, and the grim dark depths that plunge like a dagger into the heart of the earth below. And this Knowledge transforms him.
Structure is beauty. Structure is perfection. Structure is salvation. And the Structure of this place is Clancy’s guiding purpose. Because many have tried before, to know the Tower in its entirety, and now Clancy alone counts their bones. In all the World, there have been twenty-five before him. But none of them were able to complete the task given to them before they perished.
Clancy is exceptional.

Summary
“I’ve heard your kind were hardly better than feral dogs,” the cultist seethes with something like a wry smile on his cracked and swollen lips, “but I have to admit, you’ve managed to surprise me.”
His eyes wander over the Torchbearer’s piecemeal armor, his tattered green tunic caked in mud so that the embroidered symbology is barely visible, his bloodied hands that never seem to wash clean these days. But the prisoner’s gaze seems to linger longest on the handle of the battleaxe that the Torchbearer carries on his back.
Still faintly smiling, he asks, “Have you also come to offer me absolution, or are you my vengeful executioner here to relieve me of my head?”
“You’re still breathing, aren’t you?”

Summary
Escape is a black car left idling in a gas station parking lot just off the highway. It shines, dark as sin, and Clancy waits until he is sure no one is watching him before he breaks into a run so bold, so daring that he’s almost certain someone will catch his arm before he’s even made it out of their reach. But he’s been slipping towards the edge of the awning’s safety ever since he got here. Waiting for just the right moment to flee.
And they aren’t expecting this, not today of all days. When the sun is bright and dangerous. And the summer’s heat is bearing down like God’s wrathful right hand.
Especially not when they’re preparing to feed.

I don’t even like urban fantasy. That tells you how good this one is.

Summary
At the Citadel Station on Lola Sayu, Echo fails to prevent the team’s escape shuttle from being blown to bits, and he alongside it. Months later, Anakin, Rex, and the Bad Batch rescue a compromised Echo from the evil Techno Union. What happens in between?
“You’ve got suckers’ luck / Have you given up? / Does it feel like a trial? / Does it trouble your mind, the way you trouble mine?”
(Fic and chapter titles from Exile Vilify by The National.)— This backstory is written out of my love for (and projection onto) our underrated boy Echo. Mostly because I couldn’t resist the potential for untapped angst. —
