That was what it was meant to be at least. But it didn't happen like that because on their first trip with the Twinkie JJ gets bitten by a snake and what was meant to be the best summer in their lives quickly turns into the worst.

Wille frowns a little as Simon stands next to him, Vincent having left to sign them in.
“I thought you were gonna go home,” he says.
Then he smiles unhappily.
“It’s okay, really. You should go. You’re probably tired and cold and this is going to take a while.”
The waiting room is full and they will definitely be here for hours. When Simon was here for a broken arm when he was nine they had to wait for at least five hours despite them prioritising children and there seem to be even more people here today.
“I’ll stay,” he says
They have been rescued and they are both safe. Still, Simon can't bring himself to leave the hospital and decides to stay. And as the hours trail by they get to know eachother, learning sides of eachother they have never seen before.

They have skied for about ten minutes when Wilhelm stops in his tracks so abruptly Simon almost runs into him, consequently losing his balance and falling for a second time.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” he says.
“Shouldn’t we see the lake?” Wilhelm asks.
“What?” Simon says as he stands up, this time with a little less effort.
“Vincent said the trail would follow the lake. But so far we’ve only seen forest,” he says with a sigh.
“What do you mean?” Simon says. “Are we on the wrong track?”
“I don’t know,” Wille says. “Maybe?”
“What do you mean maybe?” Simon says as the panic sets in the stomach.
They can’t be lost. Not in the middle of fucking nowhere, in the middle of fucking winter and in a fucking snowstorm.
Simon and WIlle are teammates but in all honesty they are more like enemies, rivaling for the same spot on the team. And they definitely can't stand eachother. When they get teamed up on the worst team bonding day ever, neither of them think their day can get any worse. But it does as things snowball and they are forced to seek shelter together from the heavy snow and cold winds.
