“I can’t believe I decided even for a second that it was a good idea,” Charles sighs, every word that leaves his mouth a complete, unfiltered truth.
The library is empty of students and awash in warm sunlight of the early spring, which would make this Sunday afternoon feel downright idyllic, if it wasn’t for… well, for a whole lot of things.
Erik, who’s figuring out where to put his helmet so he doesn’t stand there clinging to it, gripes: “Oh, I can,” which, given that he’s also currently afflicted by the serum, hey. As if it’s not the ‘Let’s Throw a Baseball Field at the White House’ person speaking. He slams the helmet on one of the bookshelves safely out of Charles’s reach—not that Charles would touch that thing with a ten foot pole, thank you very much—and turns back to Charles with an unimpressed expression.
The fact that Erik is here, at the school, in the first place, having chosen the very day of the first serum testing and the exact lab Hank and Charles were using to do precisely that, says a lot about Charles’s luck and lack thereof.

Things have been going well for Peter Strahm. Too well, perhaps, so when everything he values in life starts crumbling and falling apart, is it any surprise that at the center of the carnage stands no other than Mark Hoffman, an irritating detective that Strahm has been sleeping with for the past few months? Strahm doesn't want a serious relationship, and he isn't in love with his best friend, damn it, but Hoffman won't hear any reason and his jealousy is deadly in a rather literal sense. Old troubles resurface. New fears emerge. Not to mention that there’s a serial killer on the loose. By the end of the chase, will anything be left of his life for Strahm to salvage?

Alex is a wreck - he's wet, he's miserable, he's exhausted, and worst of all, he has possibly the most important pitch in his life tomorrow and his hair and beard are a mess. His usual barbers is closed for the holidays, so he tries somewhere a bit further out - "Greg's Trim & Massage". He's a nervous twitch of a man, but that might be just want someone wants.
“Oouughhh,” he slurs, making no sense. “Oh my god. Oh my god!” He wiggles – and it’s incredible. “It’s amazing! It’s… it’s better than sex!”
Alex beams at Greg – his toothy grin shining up at him matching the gleaming delight in his eyes.
Greg’s smile falls.
