    Dabi comes in at that moment, walking right through the middle of their group to get to the glasses and the sink without batting an eye. Hawks freezes, not fond of the idea of yet another person knowing about his eating habits. “You’ve gained a member,” Dabi observes, sounding amazingly calm about it. Spinner holds his cricket container up like he’s proposing a toast. “Should have figured. You’re always eating,” he says to Hawks, who is still frozen.

    “Bird metabolism,” Hawks manages somehow. “Flying is resource-intensive. And today was busy.” Dabi takes a sip of his water and nods. “This seriously doesn’t bother any of you?” he finally asks the room at large. He waves the chicken a little for emphasis.

    “I am literally eating bugs right now,” Spinner says, popping another one into his mouth, as if in demonstration. Toga nods and waves her now-empty blood pouch.
